Not Yet Ready for Prime Time Posted by: from: on Compared to my GoPro Hero Black, this device has not been as functional when you do not have an internet connection to run your app and you cannot charge and download your device. I was on a a four-day remote trip in Central Kalimantan in Borneo where I had no cell service or electricity available. My GoPro uses memory cards. That was easy when one was filled, I just changed it. Also, my cell phone app did not work without a cell tower. Maybe there is a way to work around this. The GoPro is much easier without the cell app plus a remote is available. I own both cameras and several others like the Sony A6000 and Sony D7000 that I also had on this trip. I have filled sever 64GB memory cards. It is more important for me to be able to change memory cards than to have it totally submersible. This is a great concept and I think future versions may be worth buying. There is another 4K version coming soon and it must have more internal memory or you would only get about 10 minutes of 4k video.

Fly Posted by: from: on An affordable 360 vr camera all in one that is easy to get started and use. Though the camera picture is taken in high def 1080, stretching it with the fish eye lens and then veiwing only a fraction of it makes it for a pixilated low resoluton video(unless viewing at full 360. They should opt for the new norm of a 4k camera and a way to interchange batteries. Easy to use when just recording but using in tandem with a screen/phone will drain the battery faster with no way of changing batteries and once a battery is drain, camera does not let you charge and go at the same time. Which is a big downfall for long trips/adventures while using a portable power supply. But in all it is affordable, robust and waterproof(as long as mic is plugged) and with an easy one button function with vibrate function for grab and go. Though boot up may take a bit of waiting for the ADD generation.

Nice but frustrating. Posted by: from: on First off the camera is cool. Its 360 degrees that dazzles when viewed on the Facebook or Youtube. Here's my issue. And its a big one. Software Software Software. I figured since there is a 2 minute limit on video uploads(files are very big) I could at least trim a few different movies then add them together to get to 2 minutes. Nope. I figured that the desktop program for PC would be much more than a simple trim deal. The mobile app is much more detailed however its close to impossible to edit if using your fingers for the slide. I like this. Sorta wish I wouldve waited until things get to be more supported but buying this was the early adopter in me. If expecting to go out and make some cool edits or videos over 2 minutes, this is not that camera right now. If you just want to strap it on your head or bike and go riding or walking for 30 minutes than come back home, use mobile app, generically trim a video to two minutes without too much thought into detail, this might be for you. Im very regretful that I bought this to be truthful. Was hoping for much better software tools. They will come in due time but so will the price. Right now I still have this debating on a return. It's cool but not $400 cool only for a generic 2 minute video. It will get better with time though. Software Software Software

Mind bending camera Posted by: from: on Wow!!! Still trying to get my head around it...This thing sees everything I can't. I mounted the Fly to my longboard, captured a 3 minute ride and spent 60 minutes watching from different Points of View. If a picture is worth a thousand words, 360fly is worth a thousand - different - views!!!

Good product, excited for the future. Posted by: from: on This is my first 360 degree camera purchase and I'm happy to report that it's unlike anything I've experienced from a camera before. The camera design is beautiful and definitely stands out. The resolution of the camera could be better if this is going to be the next evolution of video, but it's a good start. I was really intrigued by the apps built in virtual reality. It's a little difficult to set-up in the goggles, but after the orientation is configured it's pretty cool. My son (11yo) loves to watch himself so that's entertaining. The set-up is fairly simple, although I had trouble connecting the camera to the app. I've also experienced a few app crashes during my video edits... So that's kinda annoying. Overall I've been happy. It would just be nice if the resolution was better. It's certainly not a professional camera, but it's 100% worth checking out if you're interested in 360 degree video or virtual reality. As long as you don't need your videos to be professional quality, this product is for you. I'm excited to see the improvements that hopefully come with their next generation.

Does not accomidate "active" lifestyle Posted by: from: on We bought this camera in the beginning of December. The footage is fantastic for a camera of its kind, but once you get a scratch on the lens, it shows on EVERYTHING. We went hiking and my husband had fallen, and the 360fly endured a few scratches. We figured it would be ok, but when we came home, we quickly figured out on all of our footage, we have scratches that distract you from everything else you recorded. At least with a GoPro you can replace the case. But on this, once there is a scratch on the lens, there is no going back. The manufacturers need to figure out a better way to live up to what they're claiming, that it is made to stand up to your active lifestyle. If you are reading this review right now, go with a GoPro or save your money until a better version comes out.

So cool!!! Posted by: from: on So we had like 3 GoPro cameras. I love GoPro. But I adore this camera. The editing tools on the app are crazy easy to use, the 360 perspective is just amazing, the camera itself is easy to use, it's lightweight, and I am super impressed that they gave us an adapter for the GoPro mounts instead of having their own overpriced mounts you are forced to buy when you have 100 mounts for the GoPro stuck to everything you own. And the adapter COMES WITH IT!!! Am I the only person solidly impressed by that? Anyway, our kids race motocross, we all ride as a family, we snowboard, wakeboard, wake surf, snowmobile, hike, camp, bicycle, motorcycle, go kart race, flat track race and the kids race bmx in the summer. We use this thing constantly. We are out doing something every weekend without fail. We probably need 3 more. I'm just going to strap one to each of them permanently!

Best investment for a camera Posted by: from: on I went in looking for a GoPro. Was talking to a gentleman who worked there and was telling about the 360fly. Was a great camera for my trip to the Bahamas. I was able to get great shots for a video recap of my trip. It's great that you can edit clips right in your phone if you want or on your computer.

OMG! Camera is amazing Posted by: from: on I bought this for my husband's B-Day on a whim. OMG! He will not put it down. After one trip surfing and capturing video, he has a new favorite toy. The video was amazing. I still can't believe you capture everything from this little camera. At first we were not sure what to make of everything but the more he plays with the camera and application to edit he will not stop. You have created a monster. Now my son will not stop begging me for one!

BAD RESOLUTION Posted by: from: on The video resolution is very poor and the camera does not do a good job of automatically detecting the orientation. The audio is also subpar. Dont forget to remove the little plug/lanyard that keeps it waterproof to enable sound recording. I dropped mine and it rolled a good 15 feet. The support team is great and are ready to honor warranty and replace.
