I wanted to buy an after market one that was cheaper and longer, but BB sales put a scare into me saying they didn't cover this or that. I said I checked and they said they do. They said be sure you have it in writing. Didn't take a chance because ST doesn't send out contracts.So I bought Best Buys. It's only been about 6 months, hope I don't have to use it this soon or at all. Maybe I would recommend for peace of mind.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY Posted by: from: on Geek Squad Protection is completely useless if the item is an "installed" item (like a wall mounted TV or Home Theater system.) The Geek Squad Protection customer service rep ALWAYS answers that the only way to get a repair is to "bring the item to the store." Hard to do with a 55" wall mounted television with speaker system. They are rude and unhelpful, and will eventually either cut you off or transfer you to the manufacturer without telling you that is what they are doing. In all cases they disregard their obligation to come to your house to do the repair.
