Posted by: Scottzz from San Carlos, CA on 05/05/2013The monitor works well but if you have Windows 8 the apps to use software menus for adjusting brightness, contrast, etc. do not work. I tried to use the menus for some time before I googled the problem and found that other customers said the menus were incompatible with Windows 8. I believe them based on my efforts. The monitor is simple enough to use without the manual, but the manual is very poor and doesn't really say anything useful. Also the adjustment buttons on the front of the monitor aren't very precise, touch them once and it may read as two or more presses of the button. I' probably but the same monitor again, but it would be nice if these things worked better.

Best Monitor for the price and size

I don't watch movies or play games so I don't take advantage of the 1080p res & wish the resolution was better for the text editing that I primarily use it for. That said, I knew I was getting 1080p when I bought it and I was able to tweak it to display text very clearly- just not as clear as a higher res monitor. Of course, if you want to pay $900 for a high-res 27", go ahead. I'm perfectly happy with my 1080p!

Though you should anticipate that there is actually a big (1cm) border on the top, right and left of the screen. I thought this was a problem to start with, then I figured out that this is actually intentional.

Fine monitor, for gamers or business

Great viewing angles and if you want the thin outline makes multi monitors excelent. Only drawback is the speakers are rear facing, and not as clear as would expect.

Great 1920x1080 27", slim profile

It does not have an adjustable stand which is annoying for those who care about ergonomics. The included software is junk. The monitor controls are standard, nothing special. I do not have any dead pixels. The resolution is just fine and I don't notice any issues that some people complain about to justify the higher resolution monitors.

Great bargain monitor for home office

Love the monitor size, colors, and resolution. Works really well with both Windows and Linux devices. Seems to be an outstanding value for the price. Didn't like the setup or instructions, but it has all the drivers needed so configuring it was not difficult.

Great monitor for photography on a budget

No need to touch any buttons, unless you are making changes in the way it operates. Calibrates well with a colormonkey profiler. Viewing angles are as advertised. I have had no problems running video or editing photos with this monitor! I recommend it to anyone looking for a good low cost monitor. It comes with speakers but you won't be buying this monitor for great sound as the speakers are almost worthless for any quality sound. Wall mounting seems to be an issue since there are no mounts that are ready made to purchase ( that I have found anyway).
All and all.... really happy with it's performance!!!!!
