Not for separate circuit breakers or AT&T Uverse

Posted by: from Houston, TX on 03/29/2013Nice product, nicely packaged and easy set up. I set up on one side of the house near router on it's own wall outlet. I set the receiver in another room across the house on another circuit breaker. The device caused my AT&T Uverse televisions to loose picture. Didn't happen before I installed it and hash't happened since I removed it. Limited online support. Returned product and bought NetGear extender instead.

    Powerline Network Adapter Kit WORKS
    5
Posted by: from State College , PA on 03/24/2013I picked up a kit back before Christmas 2012 because the wireless kept cutting out behind the entertainment center . Plugged one into a wall receptical with an ethernet to the router and the second to the computer in the entertainment center and never thought about it again , IT WORKS . Over the past month She started saying her magic jack was acting up , it was not the jack or the computer once again it was the wireless in the kitchen ! I rushed out and picked up a second kit and had her phone nearly static free . This time I can say it was even easier , the Actiontec Powerline Network Adapter Kit Works with itself , I just Plugged it in the outlet hooked up the ethernet removed the wireless dongle turned on the computer and set my connection and She has a stronger signal too . Now the wireless network can only be used by the laptops and tablet . But She is Happy at least :)

    It is OK product.

Posted by: from New Brighton, MN on 03/23/2013It doesn't make any sense to build a product that has an input of 100mbps and output of 500mbps! So if you use a set of two, then even you have 500mbps between the devices, the total max speed is limited to 100mbps, which is the max available speed for the network wired input. Look for other solutions that have 1000mbps wired connection input!!!

    Great

Posted by: from Nashville, TN on 03/22/2013Used for a Roku XD that I had been using Wi-fi on but had gotten more pausing than I like during streaming of movies. This seems to have remedied that situation. I had heard bad things about these, but I had a friend who had good luck with them. Went with his suggestion and it was a good one.

    Great While It Lasts!

Posted by: from Alachua, Fla. on 03/17/2013I had been skeptical about these powerline adapters. Decided to take a chance with ActionTec's. Worked great, and the LEDs guide you to the best outlets to use. Sadly, one of the devices has already bit the dust, and 1 DAY past when BestBuy might have replaced the purchase for me.(assuming standard 30 day return policy) I've not asked them yet about a return. If not, I guess I'd have to pay to ship the unit to company, on it's 1 year "Limited" warranty. You know what "Limitied" means; everything but YOUR reason for returning something. Interesting that user is advised NOT to plug these into power strips with spike protection. Of course this leaves the device vulnerable to voltage spikes by any source, and I cant attribute this failure to any lightning strikes. My "bad luck" is the only reason I cant give a very good review here.

It serves the purpose for what I bought it for.

Posted by: from San Antonio, Tx on 03/17/2013It's ok, but has some limitations that aren't apparent on unopened package. Since you'll probably set up near your computer, available electrical sockets without surge protection can be an issue.

    Great Product! Super easy setup!

Posted by: from San Diego, CA on 03/15/2013Was very impressed with this product! Works exactly the way you would want it to and has a very small footprint at a great price. I was actually expecting to be involved in some lengthy troublesome setup process. To my surprise, these plugged right in and worked perfectly right out of the box. I literally didn't have to setup anything at all and they work great! Haven't had a single issue.... I highly recommend to anyone looking for this type of product!

Great Entry into the World of Powerline

Posted by: from Palmdale, Ca on 03/12/2013This is my first Power Line kit and I have to say I am very impressed. To start off with the setup was incredibly easy. My Xbox was up and running in minutes. Netflix was able to stream in HD perfectly fine. My only concern was the lack of documentation. It only came with a Quick Setup guide and a Warranty Information sheet. I had to find out through Actiontec’s web site that the lights on the device actually dictate the quality of the connection. Currently my power lines adapters are about 20 feet away from each other which I am assuming brings down the connection quality to orange; which means it’s a good connection but not great. Still though, like I said earlier I was running Netflix on my Xbox without one stutter. I definitely recommend it for people who might have dead spots or if you don’t want to run just one long Ethernet cable.

    Easy Setup, Occasional Hiccups
    4
Posted by: from Wilkes-Barre, PA on 03/09/2013Product installed easily, simply just plug it in and you're good to go. Ran into some problems where it would freeze up any activity from the network and would need to pull each unit out and reinitialize the network. Currently running on four devices, couldn't resist at such a price. Have one for my old laser printer, a computer and an Xbox in separate bedrooms connected to my router. Provided better stability on the network than my 2.4Ghz wireless.
