Posted by: Sziklassy from Boston, MA on 04/04/2013We got this when best Buy had a sale this past Black Friday with the intent of using it in the bathroom since we like to listen to music while getting ready in the morning. It does what it advertises, but not an ounce more, which is disappointing.
My biggest gripe is the battery recharge warning. The first warning you get is "battery is under one quarter full". Roughly one minute after that bluetooth will disconnect, a warning of "recharge battery now" is spoken, bluetooth will reconnect, and the cycle continues until you turn the unit off and plug it in. Ok, so what on earth is the point of telling me my battery is getting low if you don't tell me until moments before it actually starts to die? I would rather it just die and be done with it. These prompts COULD be a useful feature if they actually warned you at LEAST 10-15 minutes ahead of time.
I am also quite disappointed that this doesn't allow for controlling songs (simple skip, pause, stop) at all. Really all one can do is raise or lower the volume. Bummer.
It would also have been nice to be able to make voice calls on this. While I guess you technically can, there is no mic, so if a call comes through, you hear your caller over bluetooth, but have to talk into the mic on your phone. Again, pointless.
Also, slight gripe was that this thing will actually move if a particularly bassy song is playing. As such we had to place this on a shelf with a lip so that it wouldn't go flying off. It doesn't go bouncing across the room or anything, but will slowly but surely walk right off your shelf, if given the chance.
It does, however do exactly what it advertises. It brings a relatively loud speaker anywhere you want to go in a small and somewhat rugged form factor. If you are looking for JUST bluetooth speakers, and nothing more, these are a decent buy.

Posted by: Tony562 from Los Angeles, CA on 01/12/2013Do a web search for "Jambox USB" problems/breaking before you consider buying one of these.
We are on our third (3rd) one in as many months due to a serious design defect by Jawbone.
Basically, the micro USB breaks and pushes into the unit, making charging impossible
Our first one lasted six months before it broke, the replacement was bad out of the box, and the third lasted 6 weeks before it did the same thing
Jawbone is aware of it, and it monitoring their customer forums, but the issue continues
If you buy one, get the BestBuy extended warranty since you will be needing it. If you go through Jawbone, each exchange takes at least 3 weeks

Chalk it up as another review of a great product

Posted by: TheCynicalPharmacyTech from Fort Worth on 12/18/2012Okay, so let me start off by saying that I don't review products, often largely because I feel like they often are unread in the masses of product reviews, also I am one of those people that "give credit where credit is due". Now, to the review; first off anybody who is a connoisseur of music can agree when I say that "you get what you pay for" when it comes to sound quality in products, and this product is no exception. Now price, usually most consumers address this issue first, being as when people are searching for products typically they are in some kind of "budget". At first this product seems to be a bit on the pricy side of the spectrum of portable, wireless speakers, but make no mistake you are paying for a quality product, the sound on this item is beyond amazing. Rich bass, clear treble, and no distortion to audio when its cranked all the way up. So once you get past the shock of the sticker price you got a pretty good product on your hands. Also, there is no "equalizer" on this item like you'll find on most products in order to "fine tune" the genre of music your listening to, I've played everything from hip-hop to classical music and it all sounds phenomenal. Okay, now moving on to portability, most people are fast paced this day in age and are all about how small can we get it and how long will the battery on this thing last. Portability for me wasn't really any issue, however it is certainly a convenience and this thing certainly is conveniently portable, being as its a little smaller and lighter than a brick it is practical to carry around in a purse for women, maybe a pocket for men wouldn't recommend it, but could do it if need be. Now battery life yes, you can in fact get 10 hours playback on this device as stated on the box with a full charge of course. It seems that this item is a real "gem" in the never ending slew of iPhone/iPod speakers on the market today, so what are you waiting for go pick one up for yourself!

Posted by: duck68man from Watertown, MA on 12/02/2010I have now had my JAMBOX for 10 days and loving it. I have been taking it with me on the road to use for conference calls and listen to Holiday music in my hotel room. Used last weekend at a friends party and it got me major brownie points streaming Pandora throughout dinner.
