Excellent Backup Solution
5
Posted by: iamnate from Rochester, NY on 05/18/2013This is a great a piece of networking equipment that makes backup and drive/printer sharing easy. Plenty of capacity for several computers in the house, although a bit more expensive than buying a decent router and external drive for backup separately. I think that the convenience of backing up and using a networked drive wirelessly are worth the price of admission.

Seamless use with Apple products
4
Posted by: toyarmy from Louisville, KY on 05/17/2013We returned a highly rated Cisco router for this because I really needed the hard drive functionality and the Cisco couldn't read/write Mac journaled. I knew I'd be compromising speed (that my network nor devices are incapable of utilizing currently) and range (our house is small though, so the time capsule is sufficient) for the ability to easily integrate with all my apple devices.
It does everything I expected, so I'm not remotely disappointed.

I am very satisfied with the Time Capsule
5
Posted by: Joyzac from Bernville, PA on 05/16/2013I needed an external hard drive and a router. This satisfied both criteria. I did not realize it would allow me to print wirelessly, so that was a wonderful bonus!! My nephew helped me set it up but it was relatively easy.

Excellent so far

Posted by: Wingswheel from Grand Ledge, MI on 05/11/2013This backup device was very easy to set up and the Time Machine software is also very easy to configure. I have read several complaints about how hot it gets and sometimes the heat will make it fail but so far this hasn't been a problem.

Fast backup but can't stop the constant backups
5
Posted by: MEddi from Texas on 05/11/2013I bought this to back up my hard drive on my Macbook Pro but once it starts, it backs up the entire hard drive and keeps doing it over and over again every day, every few hours. I had to fumble through Finder to figure how to back up files on it but if it continues to back up the drive every few hours, it won't take long to saturate the hard drive and I'm back to square one. Also there's no easy way to back up files as there isn't any option as you save files to send them to the Time Capsule. It does have a great router in it though.
One last thing, when I did try to do a restore, it flat won't let me do it so why the constant backups if it won't restore the files?
Should have gone with a plain old fshioned external hard drive.
