Large memory capacity

Large Storage Easy Navigation

Posted by: Kazander from Chicago suburbs on 06/16/2013I need something with a lot of GBs as I have thousands of sermons and music files not to mention the Bible. I wish they'd make one with even more GBs. I find that sometimes it just doesn't want to shut off. I have an identical one that I have dropped and used for several years. Now, even when turned off, the battery discharges to empty in about 24 hours. If used to listen, the battery life is "normal." My comment re the battery life should not be taken as a negative comment as comparing it (being a rechargeable item, especially one that is used as much as I use mine) to other recharge items I have owned (shavers, toothbrushes etc.), the battery life has been superior. Re the dropping (which I seem to keep doing LOL) -- I have never had a problem with it breaking etc. even when it fell off the elliptical machine (hitting the machine and bouncing onto the floor). The menus are easy to navigate, the files very easy to add to the device, and the number of free podcasts is impressive. My old version didn't have the color screen and that is a really nice addition. The reasons I gave it four stars compared to five for features are because while it has the most storage of any device on the market, I wish it had even more. Secondly as noted above, I frequently have had trouble getting it to turn off. Instead of going off, it goes to a menu wanting me to add the last played song to a go folder. Also, it is a bit big. For music, the sound is a 5! I gave it 4 of 5 stars on sound because with some of the book and sermon files, they play very quiet even with the volume at max and on the train or walking in Chicago, it is almost impossible to hear. I do note, though, that it may be the file creator that is causing the problem and not the device. Even with that said, I love this device! I now own two of them and previously had a third. I would not buy a mp3 player from anyone else.

Great Ipod! Wanted the classice with 160gb

I love the ease of navigating through the screens, custom settings, etc..Not related to the ipod classic, I wish itunes would save the cd information when copying to put on my ipod. I just use windows media player to rip now and convert with itunes as it save s the album and song titles. The new ipod classic is great and has a long battery life. I also like the endless selections of covers, chargers, etc.. available to protect it. I did go with bose earbuds for improved sound quality.

My Second iPod

The main control stuck (I don't know how else to describe it) and could not operate the menus with my thumb or fingers. I have used this thing every day since I got it, so when it "broke" I figured I had gotten my money out of it and bought a new one. 160 gig doesn't hold my entire collection but close enough. Awesome little machine that I hope they never quit making.

Holds a TON of songs - and videos!

I'm not a huge fan of the click wheel navigation, however - but this might become easier the more I get used to it. The screen is too small for watching videos, so outputting them to a TV is best. This iPod isn't nearly as fancy as the iPod Touch, but the iPod Touch doesn't come with 160GB of memory - yet.

Other than that, if you take care of it and don't get it wet then you will be just fine. I like the IPOD Classic 160GB because I have all my music with me at all times!!! Great product!!!
