The Schlage LiNK keypad lock replaces your existing entryway lock and broadcasts a Z-Wave signal to your network. The Schlage LiNK light module controls home lighting, and the Schlage LiNK bridge connects your Z-Wave network to the Internet via your existing home connection (a router is required).
The Schlage LiNK Web portal ties it all together for a monthly fee (currently $8.99 per month). Using the Web portal and free software you download to your PC or smartphone, you can instantly monitor and control all installed Schlage LiNK-compatible devices (as many as 232 devices via a single bridge) from wherever you are.
Using the Schlage LiNK interface, you can program your lock with up to 19 individual 4-digit codes, personalized for each person who requires access to your home. It can also provide text or email alerts to let you know immediately when your locks have been activated, and by whom.
Note: The lever version of the Schlage LiNK entry lock allows you to control lock and unlock it remotely; the deadbolt version must be physically turned after the lock has been remotely activated.
