      High quality-bargain pc with super capabalities

      Posted by: from Riverside, CA on 05/20/2013Let's make this short and sweet. This is my first pc, but I definitely knew what I was looking for when I set out to buy it. At this price, these specs were quite impressive, and I really couldn't pass up the deal. Aesthetics: The aluminum body gives the laptop a high quality feel, along with the backlit metal-like keyboard and the large touchpad. Performance: 3rd Gen Intel Core i5 Processors are some of the best processors used in all computers. At 2.6 GHz, this laptop delivers a hell of a lot of speed, and is capable of performing pretty power intensive tasks, like gaming and photo editing. The Power Boost technology allows the processor to clock itself up to a whopping 3.2 GHz, which is plenty of power to perform those extreme apps, like video editing. The stock 6GB of DDR3 RAM is definitely enough to multi task quite a bit without slowing down. It could handle quite a bit, I honestly haven't felt any lag since I bought it, which was about 3 months ago. Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking for a high quality computer for an inexpensive price. Very happy with the quality and performance of this computer.

      Great Premium Computer

In July 2011, I purchased a new Toshiba P755 i3 computer new from Best Buy. I also purchased the 3 year Geek Squad warranty with it--SMARTEST move I made! That computer was fine for the first 6 months, and then the hard drive crashed while I was using it. Took it in to the Geek Squad who sent it in for repair. Gave me back the computer a few days later and all was fine...for about 5 months and it crashed again-this time after doing windows updates. Took it in to Best Buy and got it back again after a few days. Then on April 28, 2013' it crashed again. I spoke to the people at the geek squad and they told me I should be eligible for a replacement computer since I had 3 of the same problems within the warranty period. I first chose a new Toshiba P855 i5 computer. I figured maybe it was just a bad computer--my last Toshiba lasted me 4 years and my mother's has been working fine for the last 2 years. This new Toshiba lasted 3 hours when I started getting the blue screen. Upon calling the Geek Squad again, I was told this new hard drive had crashed already. I took it back to best buy to exchange it and was telling the salesman about my woes. He suggested the ASUS Q500A computer. I have had it now for 2 weeks and have had ZERO issues with it. It is lightening fast, has tons of hard drive space, has a beautiful screen and has Bluetooth, which isn't listed on Best Buy's website. The only downfall is it has only so-so sound, but I added external speakers and it sounds wonderful. Also Best Buy has the video card as a UMA graphics card, but when I looked it up on the computer, it says its an Intel HD 4000 card. Also, it doesn't have all that "extra" programs that usually come with the Toshiba and HP computers. I would highly recommend this computer to everyone.

      Great product for the price

      Posted by: from Monterrey, Mexico on 05/19/2013This computer is great, win 8 has a faster boot than win 7, and is almost the same when you enter to the desktop so don't worry about the new start menu. Win 8 have other advantages but the user must learn them on the go. The computer is very good for the price, and if you're a semi old school gamer this computer will satisfy your exigence and even if you play games like bioshock infinit the compurer is good. I had a problem with the touchpad, but some upgrades of drivers fixed it. The speakers are in the inside so the sound tends to go out frem the bottom (you will notice a difference in sound if you lift up the computer), but f you usually use headphones this is a non important aspect P.S. Sorry for my english.

      Very buggy

      Posted by: from Groton, CT on 05/19/2013First thing that you'll notice (assuming that you don't get a defective one of these) is that it's extremely prone to fingerprints, I had read that prior to my purchase and didn't mind at the time. Within a few days it looks pretty filthy, the finger prints are very noticeable. Our laptop was pretty buggy from the get go. One major problem is that it had internet connectivity issues-- it would randomly drop connection constantly while our cell phones, other laptop, and smart TV would never lose connectivity. Other issues we experienced were constantly booting us back to the windows 8 log in screen for no reason. I don't claim to be an expert on windows 8 by any means, but it should not be doing that randomly. We returned it for an HP of similar statistics. Very satisfied with the HP.

      Advanced for an old school

Just need to know all the tricks and trade. Other than that, light weight, it's quiet, sleek looking and nice big screen. The sound is great.

      Perfect laptop to use with LG 7200 Smart TV
