Posted by: Javelinabob from Grand Haven, MI on 05/18/2013Nice keyboard adds very long battery life. Very quick apps. Would like to see more apps, but apps available are very good. Had a problem with the camera. However, Best Buy service plan replaced it with no questions asked after having had it one year. Compares in quality to the iPad. Updates are frequent. Limited word program without purchasing one. Great on notifications for emails, updates, etc. Keyboard (separate) is excellent and blows away the iPad keyboard. Easy hook up to TV with HD quality is really cool. Hot spot connections work good. Price was not that bad. Wish it had Windows like the new ASUS models. Touch screen is great. Easy clean screen and no scratches after one year. Overall, very happy with product.

Solid performance; Amazing screen; and Jelly Bean
4
Posted by: kitc from on 04/25/2013Pros:
+Firstly, Amazing screen. While it might not have the pixel density of Apple's Retina display, it offers Super IPS+ screen is very nice OUTSIDE in direct sunlight. (Apple can't say that.) It also features 16:9 resolution which is perfectly suited to widescreen movies. Others who have seen my screen agree, it's nothing short of spectacular. And in my everyday use, the Gorilla2 glass has kept my screen scratch free.
+Secondly, the Android install is clean. It comes with ICS (Android 4.0), but an update to Jelly Bean is available over the air, with no fuss. The few Asus apps installed were actually useful -- like a file explorer, an excellent backup utility, and some cloud storage. I prefer this to the bloatware, and modified operating system that other vendors offer. (Asus' partnership with Google on the Nexus 7, is evidence of Asus' expertise with Android OS.)
+Thirdly, an excellent camera that rivals my Point and Shoot camera. It features a F.2.2 lens with a 28-mm equivalent focal length. Okay, I'll admit a tablet is a bit large for everyday photography. But if you have with you, this device camera will outperform your smartphone.
+Micro-MDHI port allows me to natively export the screen image to my LCD widescreen. I use both direct-HDMI and HDMI to adapter for screen outputs. (I had a problem with 1 older VGA projector, that couldn't handle the 1920 x 1200 screen resolution.) Overall, this feature is one more step toward using this as a laptop replacement.
+Battery: I set my WiFi to turn off when the device is in sleep mode, and go DAYS (not hours) of casual use. Even with non stop use, I still get over 9 hours of battery.
Negatives:
No device is perfect. And while these are shortcomings, these are minor and don't deter me from giving the device a full 5 stars.
-Speaker: good quality, but it's not loud enough for anything more than personal use. I compensate with a good Bluetooth wireless speaker.
-Wifi: Although it works at 802.11n speeds, I still have some dead spots in my house...in the same places where my laptop works fine.

Excellent tablet in just about every regard

Posted by: MichaelCT from Connecticut on 04/14/2013I've had the Transformer for a few months now and I love it. Very fast and responsive device. Feels very sturdy. I like the rubber backside for improved grip. Battery life is in the 10-hour range. The display itself is phenomenal. Vibrant colors. Some noticeable glare is the only real flaw but the good outweighs the bad.

Best Android Tablet When Using Custom ROMs
5
Posted by: JamesSD from SD on 04/14/2013It's been great so far but really needs to be customized to be faster. Android has but still needs to keep improving. Linux is becoming a reality on this finally. Wish Windows was as well. Needs to be more videos on upgrading this thing. Maybe the next revision after Jelly Bean OS will imrpove a bit more. I've had plenty to complain about but also love. It's kind of like a PC versus the Ipad. Little quircks here and there with crashes depending on configurations. The crashes come mainly from me not updatin my system for a while and being on 4.0.3 because I don't want to update. Waiting to play with device (root and unlock) has cost me stability and speed. It's painful learning but I know after doing a lot of searching that there is potential to upgrade to CleanROM or other Roms to get this working w/ Jelly Bean and much faster. I've been stuck finding out where to go after unlocking as I've been trying to get TWRP to run properly. I probably have to root again as I probably lost root after unlocking. Once I do, I know this device will be much imrpoved. I would give a review later but I think this is a worthwhile moment to honestly give the realistic intermediate stage that I'm sure a lot of people are going to go through. Besides the pros I mentioned, the weight of the tablet is a tad top heavy but it also is back heavy when used with keyboard so you can prop it just about anywhere without much place at all(e.g. a 3 inch window sill or a bathroom stall hand bar =P Feel of this keyboard is way better than the first version. Want to see if I can finally adjust screen resolution as I haven't seen much advantages of the high res so far unfortunately. Hopefully Linux or custom roms do this. Brightness and screen is wonderful though. Touch is good enough. Android OS is biggest strength and weakness. Only using 4.0.3 Build 9.4.5.30 from Sept 2012 and am in process of customizing to cleanrom w/ specific resolutions and hopefully a little boost in clock speeds. Wish I didn't have to research so much and run into the issues that I have. I'm sure there's a lot of help if I ask though. Good luck and I hope support continues to grow!

Great tablet
4
Posted by: Krisspe from on 03/25/2013This is my 4th Asus transformer tablet (and I've purchased many more for work). On this model Asus got it all right. Great WiFi, GPS. It's speedy. The display is stunning. And of course the transformer design is fabulous. The fact that the keypad has a full battery in it is just the frosting on the cake. Great battery life considering the display, GPS, etc.
I'm really disappointed that flash is not supported. I know that's not Asus's fault because Adobe pulled the plug on flash for Jelly Bean. I didn't think it would be that big a deal, because I don't really miss flash much on my Samsung Galaxy S3. But on a tablet it's different. I know html5 is supposed to fill the void, but it's just not everywhere yet. And the latest version of dolphin doesn't support flash either. :(
So I'm not sure what to do. This tablet is just not enough of an improvement over my 500 to make it worth giving up flash. Or is it. :/

Posted by: Siena from Auburn, CA on 03/17/2013This tablet is great looking. I got the champagne color and it looks elegant. I bought it mainly for traveling with. It is nice and compact and it does everything I need it to do. The fact Android does not support Adobe Flash Player is not a big deal to me.

Great tablet
5
Posted by: schapstic1 from NH on 03/11/2013I love this thing! It is sooo fast even when using the power save mode. The screen quality is perfect. I wish the unit had a built-in USB hookup but I was able to find a USB attachment online so that point is moot now.

Easy tablet to use, light and great graphics

Posted by: beywatch from Miami, FL on 02/27/2013This is a decent tablet, not sure if I'm keeping it just yet. Had some lagging issues and with WiFi. As your using the tablet all of a sudden it disconnects from WiFi, although it comes back its annoying when surfing. The screen is really sharp and the camera is great.

Love my Asus Infinity
5
Posted by: bhanna from Daphne, AL on 02/22/2013I love this tablet. It's fast and the screen is really sharp. I caught it on sale along with getting the docking keyboard for free when purchased together. They also gave me a fair trade in value for my old Toshiba thrive. I'm writing this review on it. I don't use the dock much, but since it was free, it doesn't really matter. Glad I got it.
