Posted by: VCola from Phoenix on 05/05/2013The Tablet is great for playing videos, music and games, there is not much volume and if you are hard of hearing you would need a small speaker to add or an earphone. Takes great quality pictures as well. This product is easier to hold than a laptop and doesn't get hot to hold and the battery length is good also to be able to download or just to work.

Posted by: ahmadcpa from Sunnyvale, ca on 04/14/2013I LOVE this tablet. Everything runs very smooth and the screen is brilliant. I would full well admit defeat if I thought I wasted money upgrading for no real reason, but this was worth it. I am not sure I ever used my camera on my TF101, but was trying everything out on this one and it takes better pics than anything I have ever had and my phone is a Galaxy S3 which is supposed to have a good camera as well, but the TF700 camera smokes it in my opinion. I really don't want to (or will be in public) "that guy" taking pics with a tablet, but I will definitely use this around the house with the kids, ebay, etc. FYI- I would say I am a fairly heavy user and have used this tablet for Web browsing, Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Photos, Games, document reading and printing. I have also done some light photo and video cropping on the tablet as well

Solid tablet for the value

Posted by: NeoCheez from Indianapolis, IN on 04/11/2013I bought this tablet to use as a work reference and store all my clinical cheat sheets and algorithms on at my hospital. The tablet has great battery life, and easily lasts through an entire shift without a charge if used in Eco or Balanced modes. It's a snap to set up, and the system flows well when moving between applications or anything graphic intensive. It's light, compact, and easy to carry. About the size of an 80 page notebook from elementary school.
On the downside, if you have too many widgets or a live background, the interface can drag down if you wake the tablet after a bit of inactivity (I believe it's refreshing all the widgets). Sometimes, if you have too much running, it will spontaneously restart. Additionally, since it's Android, the interface is still missing some of the complete full computer experience, and some websites are a bit glitchy to use (Yahoo fantasy sports SITE comes to mind, the app works fine). I also wish it had wireless N built in, but given the tablet dropped over a year ago, I can't complain.
To summarize, I was deciding between this and the $1000+ Surface for my work tablet, and couldn't be happier with my decision. The drawbacks are minor, and now that I know how to work around them, this is a perfect tool for work, and great when I'm at home. I saved $700 and have a product that lasts far longer without a charge. Great buy for work or home.

Great device - but a laptop / desktop it isn't!

Posted by: lduvall from Annapolis, MD on 01/28/2013My first android device, so the "lurning curve" is steep. I spent several hours reading online info on android the other night, and it was time WELL SPENT!!!!
I love the screen!!! I tried downloading a HD film for a trip to China - but the download didn't finish before I left. It completed when I returned to the US, but I couldn't find the movie - eventually found it, but this is another thing to be learned.
As of 1/28/2013 Asus still advertises 8GB of lifetime cloud storage - but every link I have tried gets me to a 3GB offer, and possibly a 5GB offer. I have e-mailed Asus to enquire - before filing a complaint with our friends at the state attorney general's office.
I like the device, and am pleased, but it would be nice to find a really good android magazine to subscribe to (only found 1 from the UK so far), or a really good book.
Another plus!!! It isn't a Mac!

Too much to learn yet to provide fair analyses

Posted by: NewToTablets from Tallahassee, FL on 01/21/2013Perhaps when halfway mastered my new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 64G, I will have developed a greater love for it. After much vacilating between this tablet verses an iPad I decided on the Asus strictly because it seemed more versatile. A salesman warned me that although it is more versatile than the iPad, it isn't as intuitive. I agree the product isn't intuitive! I'm sure the tablet has much more potential than imagined; however, I would like to experience it. For the price, it would have been wonderful had a convenient, detailed user manual been included inside the box along with the product. Yes, it can be obtained through an asus web site, but it must be reviewed online and the site will not allow reader to save the manual to their computer. Yes, it can also be printed but who wants to waste ink and paper on a document more than 85 pages. Regardless, the online manual lacks helpful details for first-time tablet users. I have used desktop computers for many years and I am not a technological illiterate but I expected the tablet would be easier to learn. One of the main reasons I purchased the tablet is to watch and listen to favorite videos when away from home, but since the tablet does not contain Adobe Flash Player, and will not allow me to download it, I am unable to use the device in the manner intended. I have unsuccessfully searched online to find an Adobe Flash Player substitute compatible with Android which will allow (and not limit) my online entertainment. If anyone can recommend such app please post this information before I decide to return the Asus to the store and purchase an iPad. I so want to love this product. Also, one commentator mentioned downloading a Jelly Bean update. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the exact name on the app? When searching Play Store, there's many Jelly Bean apps from which to choose. Can someone please make my Asus experience more pleasant? Thanks!

Absolutely Loving the Asus 700

Posted by: RetiredTech from on 12/07/2012As a laptop user for past 20 years, this is my first experience with a tablet and touch screen. Takes some getting used to....with absolutely no "instructions", learning by exploring and trial and error (lots of those). I gave up a brand new 17.3" HP behemoth laptop for this wonderful little package I can tuck in my totebag and take anywhere. I'm LOVING it more every day. Battery doesn't bother me at all - 5+ hrs on keyboard dock, then another 5+ hrs on pad....since retiring, I have no intention of spending more than 10 hrs a day on a computer. Charge them together overnight and ready to go again next morning. It uses the keyboard battery first, when it's down, I unattach keyboard and use just the pad - anything I need the keyboard for, I do first. Some things are easier with just the pad anyway. Screen is gorgeous - better resolution than new HP laptop's. So many more things I can do with this.....and to think I was afraid to move away from Windows after all those years. This is where IT is happenin' folks.
