Battlestar Galactica
One of the most popular television series of the late '70s science fiction boom gets a new look for the new millennium in remake, created as a made-for-cable miniseries. Four decades after the Cylon Wars, the Cylon robots (some of whom have since assumed human form) have launched a vicious nuclear attack, leaving only a few Colonial forces to lead the survivors to safety. But they can't carry on like this forever, and after bringing up the prospect of divorce Apollo realizes that he and Starbuck are at fundamental odds over the issue. Down on the surface of the algae planet, Tyrol abandons his post in order to explore a strange rock structure that proves to be the mythical Temple of Five. According to legend, an object named the Eye of Jupiter is hidden deep within the temple, and could lead the fleet to Earth if discovered. As the search for the Eye gets underway, however, four Cylon baseships arrive at the Temple under the guidance of Baltar and D'Anna. Though the situation fast grows complicated, Adama agrees to allow D'Anna, Boomer, Cavil, and Baltar onboard the Battlestar for negotiations -- which quickly go awry. But despite the fact that D'Anna has secretly snuck a Centurion raiding party on the surface of the planet, Apollo suspects and ambush and mobilizes his troops and civilians in preparation for a fight. When the fleet's food supply becomes contaminated and Sharon discovers a planet rich in edible algae, Admiral Adama must make an important decision about how to navigate through the enormous star cluster that stands between the fleet and the valuable food source. Meanwhile, relationships between those aboard the Battlestar get complicated after a groundbreaking ceremony held by President Baltar to celebrate the New Caprician colonization. After allowing some of his crew to leave and join the new colony, Adama challenges Tyrol to a few rounds in the boxing ring. Beaten badly, Adama seizes the opportunity to warn his crew that he will be decidedly more hard-hearted in the future. Battlestar Galactica: Hero
Three Cylon raiders have jumped in the middle of the Galactica's fleet, forcing the crew to brace themselves for a fight. After Starbuck and Kat take out two of the raiders, however, Adama receives a desperate call for help from the third raider. Upon learning that Lt. Daniel "Bulldog" Novacek, who once served under Adama, is piloting the third raider, the admiral welcomes Novacek aboard. The Cylons had taken Novacek prisoner after a mission that he and Adama had taken part in failed. After escaping his captors, Novacek stole one of their raiders and shot off into space. Could it be that Adama and Novacek's mission was the very thing that provoked the Cylon's deadly attack on the Colonies? As Adama confesses an elaborate story to Lee, Col. Tigh reveals to Novacek that Adama was the one who ordered the missile strike that resulted in his being captured by the Cylons. Battlestar Galactica: Torn
As Baltar remains a prisoner of the Cylons -- who believe that the former president may be able to lead them to Earth -- the crew of the Galactica decipher Baltar's abandoned notes and set course for the same nebula that the former president is leading the Cylons to. But the battle for New Caprica has taken a heavy toll on the psyche of the survivors, and after Helo assists Sharon in picking her new callsign "Athena," Starbuck is grounded for taking some careless risks during training. Meanwhile, Caprica Six educates Baltar about the Cylons' power of projection, an ability which allows them to see beauty wherever they wish. Gaius comprehends this concept far better than he would have ever expected to, leading him to agonize over the possibility that he may actually be a Cylon. Three days have passed since the rescue mission to New Caprica, and the leaders of the insurgency are meeting in the bowels of the Battlestar to determine the fate of Jammer -- a human convicted of treason for his collaboration with the Cylon police force. With President Baltar absent, his vice president Tom Zarek assumes power and enters into negotiations with Roslin. But while Roslin and Zarek appear to have reached a common ground in regards to Zarek's role as president, Zarek has one order of business before relinquishing his throne. Somewhere on the Galactica, a secret tribunal is meeting to convict and execute those they deem to be the worst collaborators, but there's descent within the ranks; Anders and Starbuck are at odds over how to handle Gaeta, a development that could highlight irreconcilable differences between the couple. Could it be that Gaeta was actually a critical component of the rescue mission's success? Back on a Cylon baseship, Gaius Baltar awakens to discover that his fate is about to be determined by the Cylon leaders. Battlestar Galactica: Exodus, Part 2
The rescue mission to New Capricia gets off to an explosive start in the second chapter of the two-part "Exodus" saga. Though Lee is convinced that his father will perish in the mission, he is consoled by the sentiment that his father will live on as a great hero. Back on New Caprica, the insurgents wait for the uprising with baited breath as a heartbroken Col. Tigh poisons his wife Ellen. The first explosions lighting up the sky, the Cylons look out from Colonial One to see the city in flames. Outside, the humans are racing to their predetermined evacuation points as Anders, Tyrol, and Tigh launch an insurgent attack and Laura Roslin and others attempt to reclaim Colonial One. When the Galactica drops into low atmosphere to launch Vipers, the Cylons take the opportunity to surround it. Thankfully for Admiral Adama and company, Lee and the Pegasus crew arrive just in time to save them from certain doom - but at what cost? As Anders clears the detention center down on New Caprica, he comes across an unconscious Starbuck. Upon awakening from her slumber, Starbuck insists that she will not leave without Kacey. Realizing that they have lost control of the colony, the Cylons prepare to retreat, though they leave D'Anna behind to activate a nuclear bomb that will render the colony uninhabitable. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: A Measure of Salvation
Upon discovering a Cylon baseship adrift in the Lion's Head nebula, Apollo and Athena investigate and discover that a mysterious virus has decimated the Cylon crew. The few remaining Cylon survivors are rushed back to the Battlestar, where Doc Cottle develops a vaccine that can curb the effects of the virus with frequent injections. The prospect of being cured ultimately proves too much for sick Cylon Simon to deny, and in desperation he soon tells the Galactica crew everything he knows about Baltar's role in helping the Cylons find Earth. But back in the Cylon fleet, D'Anna and Caprica Six now believe that Baltar is leading the Cylons into the Nebula in hopes that they will become infected and die -- subsequently torturing him in hopes of eliciting a confession. Meanwhile, on the Battlestar, Lee Adama hatches an ingenious plan to decimate the Cylons by drifting into close range with a Cylon resurrection ship and killing the infected prisoners so that the disease will spread to the fleet when they download to new bodies. Battlestar Galactica: Occupation
A Cylon and his human prisoner enter into a bizarre domestic relationship as Col. Tigh's wife secures his release from a Cylon detention center and Admiral Adama prepares his diminished fleet for a dangerous rescue mission to New Caprica. The Cylons have now occupied New Caprica for four months, and the psychological toll their presence has taken on the human settlement is devastating. Meanwhile, Cylon Leoben is holding Kara Thrace prisoner in a fully furnished apartment. While Leoben believes he can win Kara's heart and mind, it's not going to be an easy process and he might have to die multiple times before doing so. Back in his barren cell, Col. Tigh has lost an eye after being tortured by the Cylons. When his wife Ellen secures his release by sleeping with Cylon leader Cavil, Col. Tigh swiftly returns to support the insurgency, where a disillusioned trainee named Duck has volunteered himself for a deadly suicide mission. Though somewhere deep in space Admiral Adama and his son Lee are at odds over the idea of a rescue mission to New Caprica, a startling revelation will bring them together and renew their determination to rescue the hopeless humans who have fallen under command of the Cylons. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The insurgency faces a grave threat as the Cylons crack down following Duck's explosive suicide mission and Admiral Adama prepares for a daring rescue mission. Convinced after Duck's attack that they will never be able to live peacefully with humans, the Cylon occupiers on New Caprica order the arrest of hundreds of suspected insurgents -- including Tyrol, Anders, and Tigh, who miss the round up while attempting to contact the Galactica from their clandestine headquarters. Later, after Tigh refuses Laura Roslin's request to cease the suicide bombings, another insurgent blows themselves up and President Baltar is forced to sign a death warrant for 200 suspected rebels. Back in the apartment where Kara Thrace is being held, Leoben introduces her to a little girl named Kacey whom he claims is the pair's biological child. Meanwhile, on the Galactica, Admiral Adama and Lee are at odds over Adama's decidion to select Cylon Sharon Agathon as the leader of the rescue mission. But as Ellen Tigh and Cavil meet for another tryst back on New Caprica, the manipulative Cylon leader draws out some key information about the insurgency by threatening to capture and torture her husband once again. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Exodus, Part 1
Part one of the two-part story arc "Exodus" gets underway as Sharon and her crew successfully deflect a surprise attack by the Cylons and Tyrol stages a daring mission to rescue a group of suspected insurgents from the Cylon firing squad. While these two events indeed provide the human population with a newfound sense of hope, uncertainty lingers over human and android alike as President Baltar hears his Cylon overlords pondering the prospect of simply nuking the colony and abandoning plans to live peacefully with humans. Meanwhile, as the insurgents learn of Ellen Tigh's complicity with the Cylons, Kara Thrace embraces her new role as a mother and Cylon D'Anna becomes convinced that her child is still alive. Back on the Galactica, everyone says their goodbyes as Admiral Adama prepares for his dangerous rescue mission to New Caprica. Should the insurgents on New Caprica prove successful in their plans to launch a massive attack in tandem with the rescue mission, perhaps the crews of the Galactica and the Pegasus will be able to meet up and celebrate their success as planned. But in order for the mission to truly succeed, Sharon must first mix among the Cylons in a daring bid to obtain the launch keys for the grounded Colonial ships that will carry the humans to safety. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Razor
The untold story of the Battlestar Pegasus comes to the screen in this special, two-hour episode of Battlestar Galactica detailing the transformation of Major Kendra Shaw into a fearless tool of war known as a "razor." As the Cylons prepare to launch a genocidal attack on the Twelve Colonies, Major Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Jacobsen) arrives on the Battleship Pegasus reporting for duty. In the aftermath of the devastating attack, Major Shaw is trained by Admiral Helena Cain to employ suicidal fighting tactics and commit atrocious war crimes against her own people. Any sense of hesitation or doubt is methodically stripped away from Major Shaw, rendering her a living weapon driven by murderous instinct. But such a weapon can ultimately do as much damage as it does good, and it isn't long before this severe form of warfare takes a heavy psychological tool on the tormented Major Shaw. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Crossroads, Part 2
As some key members of Galactica's crew each begin hearing the same strange song, Roslin convalesces in the infirmary after her first major cancer treatment and experiences a vision of herself, Athena, and Six pursuing Hera through a lavish opera house. Awakening to discover that Athena, Six, and Hera have all experienced the same vision, a troubled Roslin becomes determined to pinpoint the source of their shared psychic experience. Meanwhile, at Baltar's trial, the defense team is down for the count and a desperate Romo Lampkin moves for a mistrial. When Lee is called to the witness chair, he argues that Baltar should be treated no differently than President Roslin -- who has forgiven numerous misdeeds since the fleet began their journey. In the aftermath of Lee's impassioned speech, Lampkin rests his case and Baltar is declared innocent. But Baltar is by no means in the clear, because now an infuriated mob is calling for his head. Despite the fact that Roslin is disgusted with Adama for his role in setting Baltar free, however, the pair quickly put aside their differences as the fleet arrives in the Ionian Nebula. At which point the fleet suddenly loses power. In the darkness, Tigh, Tyrol, Tory, and Anders are overcome by the mysterious song ringing in their heads, each tracing the tune to a remote exercise room on the Galactica. Now, as all four stand frozen and gazing into one another's eyes, they realize to their horror that they may in fact be Cylons. Just then, a massive fleet of Cylon ships surrounds the Galactica, prompting Lee to leap into his Viper and race to the ship's defense. Much to his surprise, a Viper piloted by Kara "Starbuck" Thrace appears next to him. It appears that Starbuck has returned from the dead to deliver a very important message. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Crossroads, Part 1
The fleet has jumped toward the Ionian Nebula, a landmark that is said to point the way to planet Earth, and now the citizens aboard the Battlestar have begun to exhibit some most unusual behavior. As Roslin attempts to make sense of some especially vivid dreams, Tigh and Anders strive to make out a bizarre song though the static on the radio and Baltar appears to become something of a religious figure in certain circles. But Baltar is still being tried for treason, and as Admiral Adama takes his seat on the judge's tribunal, his son Lee takes his place by defense attorney Romo Lampkin. Meanwhile, Racetrack claims that a Cylon force is stalking the fleet from afar. Adama, Tigh, and Roslin must act fast in order to avert a crisis, and as they do Lee notices something peculiar about Roslin's tea. When Tigh questions Caprica Six about the pursuing Cylons, she informs the colonel that the Cylons are tracking them by following a strange radiation signal emitted by the fleet's fuel ships. Subsequently tormenting Tigh with questions about his deceased wife, Caprica Six drives him to hit the bottle just before he takes the stand. As a result, Lampkin is easily able to shatter Tigh's credibility. Laura Roslin's testimony against Baltar, however, proves so damaging that Lampkin must call a recess. In the aftermath, Adama and Lee clash and Lee resigns his commission. Now a civilian, Lee cross-examines Laura and reveals that the tea she's been drinking is a hallucinogen. But Laura claims to be taking the drug for medicinal purposes -- namely because her cancer has returned. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: The Son Also Rises
As Kara's husband and friends mourn the loss of the beloved pilot, Gaius Baltar's trial approaches and Admiral Adama is chosen by lottery to be an officer on the judge's tribunal. But Baltar's lawyer is killed in a terrorist attack, throwing the entire trial into chaos. As a result, Laura Roslin assigns the unflappable Romo Lampkin as the new defense attorney and Adama pulls Lee from the pilot squadron and places him in charge of Lampkin's security detail. When Lampkin reveals to an irritated Lee that his mentor was none other than Lee's grandfather Joseph Adama, the former pilot softens his stance a bit. Later, as Tyrol pursues Lampkin's fleeing cat, he discovers a bomb planted on the underside of the raptor that was supposed to transport the lawyer. With disaster just barely averted, Lampkin begins making his case. However, Lampkin's luck doesn't last and he is soon injured in a successful bomb attack. In the aftermath of the attack, Lee becomes convinced that it is his mission to help Lampkin defend Baltar at all costs. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Maelstrom
The dreams and hallucinations of an unstable Kara Thrace prompt her to visit a religious oracle, who frightens her by insisting that Leoban and Kara's abusive mother both play crucial roles in her destiny. Later, as Kara heads out on patrol with Hotdog, she sets out in pursuit of a Cylon raider that no one else can see. Though Adama refuses to ground the troubled pilot, Kara's hallucinations are becoming increasingly worse. The next time she and Lee head out for patrol, Kara spies a Cylon raider once again and steers her ship into the heart of a mandala-shaped maelstrom in hot pursuit. As the pressure begins to tear her ship apart, Kara finds herself transported back to her old apartment, where Leoben waits to greet her. Subsequently, Kara drifts back to the time she discovered her mother was suffering from terminal cancer. Though Kara attempted to console her mother, her efforts were only met with cruelty and derision. Now, as Kara realizes that she has been running from her fear of death ever since, she resolves to overcome her dread in order to be whole again. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Rapture
The standoff over the Eye of Jupiter has intensified, and as D'Anna, Baltar, Cavil, and their Centurions prepare to assault the Temple of Five, Apollo and Anders vow to fend them off long enough for Tyrol to locate the Eye and get it aboard the Galactica. Meanwhile, Apollo and Anders are attempting to locate Starbuck after her Raptor crashes in the hills. Apollo has ordered his wife Dualla to attempt a rescue of Starbuck, forcing both women into an extremely awkward collaboration. After discovering Starbuck alive but badly burned, Dualla and attempts to apply first aid so that the pair can repair the ship and fly to safety. Back on the Galactica, Athena decides to attempt a daring rescue of her daughter Hara. By allowing Helo to kill her, she will be able to resurrect aboard the Cylon fleet and search for the captive girl. It won't be easy, but it is possible. As the Cylons get the upper hand in the fight for the Temple of Five, the sky becomes blindingly bright and Tyrol makes a curious connection between the sun that is about to go supernova and a mysterious drawing on the temple wall. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Taking a Break From All Your Worries
Imprisoned on the Galactica after being captured on the algae planet, Baltar's impromptu suicide attempt is disrupted by Felix Gaeta. Later, after Roslin pretends to lose her temper in an attempt to get Baltar talking, the one-time president begs for a fair trial. Frustrated at the lack of information that Baltar has offered up, Adama and Roslin order Doc Cottle to inject the detainee with an experimental interrogation drug. Captain Karl Agathon has been assigned the task of supervising a fledgling civilian refugee camp on the Galactica's starboard hangar deck, and quickly discovers that dealing with Sagittarons is no simple task during a Mellorak outbreak. As the Sagittarons refuse treatment and sickness begins to spread, suspicions about Dr. Robert's treatment methods arise, causing Captain Agathon to become more sympathetic to the refugees. But a riot is breaking out, and now everyone is at odds over Dr. Robert's abilities as a medico. Later, Dr. Robert proves himself by curing Hera. Still, Agathon is determined to prove that Dr. Robert is corrupt and breaks into some secret files in hopes of gathering evidence. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: A Day in the Life
It's been 49 days since the Galactica crew has seen any signs of Cylons, and when Tyrol volunteers himself and Cally to repair a damaged airlock, the pair begin to bicker over balancing the demands of work and family. But something has gone horribly wrong in the airlock, putting Tyrol and Cally's lives in grave danger. Meanwhile, today is the anniversary of Admiral Adama's marriage to Carol Anne. As the haunted admiral becomes distracted by some painful memories, President Roslin asks him to recruit Lee to help organize the trial against Gaius Baltar. But Lee is too busy to take on the demanding task. As the situation in the airlock becomes critical, Lee, Starbuck, and Athena launch a daring rescue mission. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Battlestar Galactica: Dirty Hands
A Raptor accident prompts Roslin and Adama to question Zeno Fenner, foreman of the tylium refinery ship Hitei Kan, about impurities in the craft's fuel. But Fenner has shut down production, claiming unsafe working conditions. The fleet's fuel supply is already critically low, and when Fenner makes further threats while quoting a subversive manifesto penned by Gaius Baltar, Roslin orders him arrested. In the aftermath, Adama assigns Galen Tyrol the task of producing more fuel. As he sets out on his mission, Tyrol begins to empathize with the disgruntled refinery workers and discovers that even his wife agrees with passages in Baltar's controversial manifesto. Though Tyrol is steadfast in his determination to get the refinery flowing again, he recognizes the harsh working conditions endured aboard the Hitei Kan and works out a schedule of rotating shifts. When the plan proves more problematic than he anticipated, Tyrol turns to Baltar's manifesto for answers. Tyrol has ordered a young man named Danny to work on the Hitei Kan, and after seeing the boy get seriously injured while risking his life for the good of the fleet, the conflicted chief shuts down the refinery and declares a strike -- a move which ultimately finds him arrested for mutiny. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
