Synopsis

The untold story of the Battlestar Pegasus comes to the screen in this special, two-hour episode of Battlestar Galactica detailing the transformation of Major Kendra Shaw into a fearless tool of war known as a "razor." As the Cylons prepare to launch a genocidal attack on the Twelve Colonies, Major Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Jacobsen) arrives on the Battleship Pegasus reporting for duty. In the aftermath of the devastating attack, Major Shaw is trained by Admiral Helena Cain to employ suicidal fighting tactics and commit atrocious war crimes against her own people. Any sense of hesitation or doubt is methodically stripped away from Major Shaw, rendering her a living weapon driven by murderous instinct. But such a weapon can ultimately do as much damage as it does good, and it isn't long before this severe form of warfare takes a heavy psychological tool on the tormented Major Shaw. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Enjoyable

Posted by: from Denver, CO on 02/10/2008I really enjoyed this addition to the Battle Star line up. It fills in more of the gaps of the story and helps feed the craving of a BS addict. However, I was a bit disappointed in the price. This one episode (though it's longer than a "normal" tv episode) cost about half the price of a WHOLE season of the show. For any fan of Battle Star, there isn't much of a choice; you gotta have this, so you gotta pay the price. On the upside, at least the money is going to support the folks who make such a great show.

Posted by: from Nebraska on 12/20/2007A big fan of the Battlestar Galactica television series. Sorry to hear Season 4 is the last. Have to give credit where credit is due. Sci-Fi Channel puts their all into their TV shows (Stargate; Stargate: Atlantis, etc.) They must put all their money into their television series because the movies they make suck. Especially the CGI they use. Battlestar Galactica: Razor starts of with a bang and ends the same way. You learn a lot more about what you've seen in the previous three seasons. Too much to give any of it away if you haven't seen it. And even if you've seen it on TV, there's a lot more in here that will surprise you.A lot of loose ends tied up. It makes you look forward to the 4th Season just to see what Kara Thrace will do to the last visages of humanity. Can't wait. In the meantime, I'm just watching all the other seasons and I wish Season 3 would hurry up and make it to the DVD shelves at the store.

Absolutely Powerful

Posted by: from West Hollywood, CA on 12/06/2007After seeing the premiere of this show on the SciFi channel, I could hardly wait for the DVD release! Unlike the original series, the viewer gets to see what happened to another Battlestar. After a devasting war, you always want to know, "who else survived?" Battlestar Galactica Razor tells you a story about how Admiral Cain, her crew, and her ship survived the holocaust and persevered against tremendous odds. Admiral Cain (played by Michelle Forbes) may appear tough and incredibly strict with her ways of running her ship, but then again, most great leaders like it "their way." I liked how the story focused on multiple characters from both ships. I truly enjoyed the character of Admiral Cain. It was sad to see how after her death, Pegasus lost absolutely "all that Admiral Cain was" and the "strength of character of all that she was in her ship." The story may be a little difficult to follow if you're not entirely familiar with all the characters. The show flip-flops from the past to the present and it can confuse the unfamiliar with BSG. However, great show, great actors, and a good portrayal of how Pegasus survived.

IT KEEPS YOU GLUED TO THE TUBE WHILE IT IS PLAYING AND IF THE FUTURE EPISODES OF BSG ARE IS GOOD IT WILL BE A GREAT SHOW. I AM UPSET THIS IS LAST SEASON AFTER ONLY 4 YEARS. WHAT WAS REALLY GOOD WAS THEIR EXPLANATION OF THINGS THAT WERE CONFUSING DURING SERIES.
