Recording information: 2006.Atlanta native DJ Unk is part of the ATL-based crew known as Big Oomp, which features Montay, DJ Jelly, and DJ Assault. On his debut release, BEAT'N DOWN YO BLOCK, Unk follows the lead of fellow dirty South natives like Young Jeezy, Yung Joc, and T.I., with hard thumping beats and a rowdy "tear-up-the-club" style, hoping to emulate their crossover success. Unk gets guest spots from Dru, Loko, Dem Franchise Boyz, and Jazze Pha, among others.
