The LG Vencie phone has a tendency to do what it wants. Many times I have found the volume off when I have carried it even though I have locked down the phone. I recently traveled from Iowa to Nevada and was without reception most of the time. I can understand no reception in the mountains but once in Reno I expected reception but it was iffy, sometimes I got reception but most times not. This phone is supposed to have nationwide coverage. Obviously it does not.
The manual I downloaded from the LG website for this phone is practically useless. It does not have full explanations of how to use this phone. For example sending texts as a multimedia file. And the Guide that comes with the phone is just that, a guide with very little help/instructions. Most of what I have learned about the phone is by accident or because I have received help from my geek son.
At first I did not have any issues with the battery. Now after about four hours it is drained even though I lock the phone. And I do not have many apps so I don’t believe that is what is draining the battery.
I do like the sound quality I get when using my Bluetooth headset. The music is crisp and clear. I found the other day a way to boost the Bluetooth headset and got even better quality. However, the music player on the phone is yet another story. I find it confusing on just how to make it do what I exactly want it to do.
I changed my cell phone plan from a well known company where I was paying over $100/month for just one phone. I looked into several phones and phone plans and decided on Boost Mobile. Although I am on a no contract plan and pay monthly and my phone bill is cut almost in half I am wondering if I did the right thing. Maybe it really is true you get what you pay for.
I get a lot of missed calls because I cannot answer the phone quickly. My ring tone is standard and hard to hear even with the volume set as loud as possible. I also do not like the amount of time my phone messages are saved. I have yet to figure out a way to keep them longer.
I have also had issues with text messages disappearing. For example my son sent his work schedule as a jpg file. Before I could download it and save it the message disappeared.
One of the reasons I picked the LG Venice is because of the camera. It is 5.0 mp. I wanted the camera because when I am out and about and do not have my Canon Rebel T3i I wanted a camera that I could instantly use. It does take nice pictures close up but you might as well forget getting anything further away than five or six feet. And taking pictures of people is another story. Even with correct settings and close shots the color of people is off. Much of the time the faces have that pink/red hue. I realize the LG Venice cannot be compared to a “real” camera such as my Canon Rebel T3i but I did expect better photos with the higher mp for a phone.
And the phone puts photos and videos into albums. I had issues with getting each album to download to my computer. Even the employees at Best Buy could not figure this one out. I however after trying several times have managed to learn how to combine the albums so they all will download.
This phone is actually a replacement phone from my first LG Venice. I was having difficulty and issues with it. Best Buy is great because after my second trip to them about that phone they replaced it. Now I am going to have to replace this new one. Except this time I believe I will have to change to another phone.
Another reason I bought the LG Venice is because it had high customer reviews. So perhaps I have just been unlucky and got two bad phones. With all this said, I am so thankful I bought my phone, phone plan and warranty from Best Buy. Most of the employees in this section of the store are very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and easy to work with. I am however going to have to return to them to get yet another phone. I am at a point I do not want to get another LG Venice and I certainly will not recommend it to anyone!- Age : 45-54

This is my first smart phone. I have resisted until now. I have had a little experience with an I phone (business phone). To me there has not been much of a difference between the I phone and the Venice. Actually the Venice had better reception at some locations. There are a lot of menus within the settings so you have to dig deep to get everything set how you desire.- Age : 45-54
