good smart phone

Posted by: from NJ on 05/11/2012The phone is great. It's not very durable to any sort of moisture. This is the second time I bought this exact phone because of that. It has a short battery life, but that's the same complaint with all smart phones. Apps take a large amount of battery life, they run even when you're not using them. An app killer helps with this. The first phone I bought a year ago had trouble with the touchscreen keyboard typing. The slide keyboard has no issues or backing out of the touchscreen keyboard and trying again helps. So it can be worked around. The phone I got recently doesn't have any problems with the touchscreen keyboard at all. In fact the one I just bought has no issues that I found. I bought it a month ago and use it several times a day. I did recommend it to a friend and they also have no issues with theirs.

Disappointing

Posted by: from OK on 05/09/2012When I first bought this phone I was really excited about it having both full touchscreen, AND a slide out keypad.... It also has the android 2.3 OS (a tad outdated, but still ok) which gives you lots of apps to install. When I got it home the first thing I noticed is that when I tried to drag an icon from one location to another on the screen, it would drop before I was ready for it to, or accidentally click on the item I was trying to move. Also, when you would try and use the Sywpe feature for typing, instead of making one constant line where you dragged your finger, it would randomly input letters across the screen as if you had lifted your finger and typed them. I though maybe it was just a defective unit, so I returned and exchanged it for another of the exact same phone. Unfortunately, after gettting my SECOND Transform Ultra.... It had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. This is just totally unacceptable in my book for a $200 phone..... C'mon boost, I have had lots of the Boost Mobile phones, and this is the only one that has had touch-screen issues. Please fix. P.S. - I can't believe I'm the only person who's found this problem?......

Great phone for Boost Mobile non-contract

Posted by: from CA on 05/02/2012This is a great phone for Boost Mobile's non contract. I switched from a blackberry on the sprint network and I thought I would not like the Android. I was almost convinced that I would hate it, but after buying it, I was amazed how much fun you can have with this phone. Tons of applications from ez tip, navigation, translation & games. I also love the fact that it saves all your contacts on Gmail and if you lose your phone or switch to a new phone you will never lose your contacts. If you can afford to spend $200 it is well worth it. Excellent monthly charges. It is $45 a month cheaper than any phone carrier with a 2- year contract plus it can go even lower if you pay your bill on time every 6 on-time payments with the shrinkage plan that Boost currently has. The phone pays for itself in 4 1/2 months and you don't have to wait 2 years to get a new phone or cancel your contract. So overall you save more money with a no contract phone and buying a good Android phone. Not the most up to date but a very good phone.

Completely Awesome!

Posted by: from Marine City, MI on 04/26/2012I did a ton of research on Boost Mobile Androids back in November, at that time there were only three. But, still after today, this phone is still the best one in my opinion. The keyboard is a little difficult to push on the keys, easy to get used to however. I really like how typing on the keyboard is quieter than hearing the constant "tick tick" from an ordinary keyboard. The fact that this phone is as slim as it is with a full keyboard is awesome: makes it extra portable. After buying it on Black Friday. I did have to send it back for a new one a week after using the first one. I haven't had problems with this one though. Even after turning off some of the apps, my battery life still isn't fantastic. I constantly feel the need to have a charger near me at all times. For a person who uses my phone a lot, it is dead by the end of the day. Youtube videos and apps are high quality! I love boost mobile's "shrinkage" concept. I never have to worry about money and I can have unlimited access to everything for $40. Epic deal! I am impressed with the Android system in it. This phone was a wise choice. I have had it for 6 months now and I am still in love with it. Time for the Samsung Transform in 4G! :D

great phone for money

Posted by: from florida on 04/05/2012The phone is pretty user friendly and easy to navigate. The only negative thing is internet access is a bit slower than I like but still a great phone in my opinion. Oh yes, megapixels are a little low resulting in avg picturre quality, They could boost it to 5 or more megapixels and solve this issue. Lots of apps included. good battery life

Good phone with nice features

Posted by: from Estero on 03/26/2012I bought this phone after I lost my BB curve. I found my BB after a week of searching but I ended up keeping the Transform. I like this phone over the blackberry curve because it has a larger keyboard to type on. It is easier to see and select the keys. But I did like the keypad style for the number keys on the curve unlike the row style on the transform. I don't like the sensitivity of the screen though. My finger can be oh so close to the screen and it will choose that selection. Also the screen is very difficult to read outside in the bright sunlight. I didn't have that problem with my curve. I have Boost mobile and the web is much faster on this phone & easier to read than with the curve . I hated using the web on my curve. The pages took a long time to load. The camera does take better pictures than the 8530 in the outdoors. But not good pictures of a concert. It does come with a flash which the 8530 doesn't have which is a plus. I like the screen rotation feature. Another drawback is the screen locks in a matter of a couple of seconds so when you unlock the screen you need to select something or it locks again. The BB, I could press any key and it unlocks and lock after a time I chose. The phone choices are on the home page and I kept hitting the voice mail icon by accident at the beginning until I got use to where not to grab the phone. The SD card is easier to access than my BB. The BB's card is under the battery and clipped in. Also it can use a 32GB compared to 8GB max for the curve. I do like the media player of the curve better than the android one.

I LOVE THE OPTIONAL QWERY KEYBOARD!

Posted by: from Northern, California on 03/20/2012This phone is small but it packs a big punch. It's a typical android that does use a lot of the battery power because of the apps.
