Amazing for a large open room5

Purchased these speakers when I was supposed to be buying a sound bar. New house didn't have wiring in the walls of the 2-story family room and we weren't interested in tearing into them. Hooked it up to a relatively old Marantz receiver and have been very impressed. Deep bass will shake the house for sure. Crisp highs and lows. Center speaker provides easily understood narration. I rarely have to repeat lines in movies to my wife. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

This system is simply amazing. Period. I read several Bose hater reviews online - don't listen to those. I purchased this system to replace a JVC 5.1 which sounded good - until I set up the Bose. I'm hearing things I never heard before. It makes you want to watch all of your movies over. Simply put - buy them, you will not be disappointed.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I Have "Heard" The Light!2

I have been a "Bose" person since 1994. I have always assumed that "Bose" was the best name in sound. That said I have always felt that "something" was missing when listening to music and movies and could not figure out why. I have always used Yamaha receivers and knew that the receiver could not be to blame. I even supplemented the bass with a Paradigm subwoofer. When we recently refinished our family room I again turned to "Bose". Only after I purchased the system did I start reading about the "negative" writings by audiophiles regarding "Bose" products. I felt well I am not an audiophile so this system should be fine. However, I still was not satisfied and recently put this system up for sale on eBay, for a loss and reinvested the money in a Paradigm Cinema 100 Ct. system. WOW!!!! I now feel I have spent the last 19 years listening to subpar music and movies just because I was impressed by a name. My children came into the room and all said to me, "It is like the person singing is right in front of you!". I am hearing highs and lows that I never heard before and am absolutely amazed at how right these "negative" writings are. The "Bose" system did have good base and ok sound and did look nice in my family room. If that is all you are looking for then this "Bose" system may be right for you. However, if you are looking for true, quality sound, this "Bose" system is NOT going to deliver what you expect.6 out of 7 found this review helpful.

Surprising sound out of these small speakers.4

Overall, I enjoy the sound. The quality is good and great sound comes out of all speakers. Even though the surround speakers are small and my bass is located behind the TV, the small speakers can be deceiving.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

I had read reviews and watched videos about the Bose Acoustimass 10, that there are other speakers for a lot less and sound just as good. Also mentioned was that there was too much speaker wire to contend with. I say, so what. The speaker wires used by Bose is a smaller diameter, it's a lot better than using what is called monster cable, which I used on my previous speakers. Bose provides everything needed to set up the speaker system. Fast and easy.1 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I bought this with my Denon receiver. I watched the movie "super 8" Waiting for the awesome train derailment scene. A highlight for a surround sound sytem. I was unimpressed by the amount of base the sub put out. I returned it and purchased the Klipsch Quintet and 450 watt sub. All I can say is "WOW" What a world of difference. I guess it's true what they say...All mids, no lows, must be Bose. Lol3 out of 5 found this review helpful.
