The whole family shares them, and they are used for everything from mowing the lawn to blocking out an annoying roommate. They are comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time, like cross-country flights. I don't know how we lived so long without them!

Cost a pretty penny - worth it!

I used these on a plane trip and slept like a baby. The hotel a/c was very noisy and they also helped me sleep there. At work, these allow me to tune out distractions but still remain aware of what's going on around me. Now I understand why everyone raves about these. They work much better than other brands I have tried.

Doesn't filter out *all* outside sound, but makes for a subdued background for your music, eliminating the distractions. Bonus - a nice clamshell hardcover case is included. It was difficult to pull the trigger and lay down $300 for a set of headphones, but I couldn't find anything else out there that matched the performance and quality.

Fantastic sound - nothing comes close

Posted by: Scut from ColoradoSprings on 05/17/2013This is my second set of these headphones. There's nothing better for concentration in a noisy, people-filled workplace. The sound canceling really helps the aural background clutter fall away. Batteries last plenty long.
My biggest gripe with these, and with Bose products in general, is the very cheap plastic used. I was exceptionally careful with my first pair, putting them back in their case after every use but after enough use, the plastic shell above the earcups just snapped. No amount of tape help them together. I expect the same from these, sadly.
