Posted by: Jasonmr10 from Plainfield, IL on 12/26/2012As a proud owner of the Bose Wave System, and the Bose SoundDock 10, I decided to invest in the Bose SoundDock Series II, and what a great investment it is. The sound quality is excellent and so was the price. The SoundDock 10 has even better sound, but being an on-the-go person, it is a little much carrying around a 20 pound docking station everywhere I go. The SoundDock Series II is perfect for on the go as it is only about 5 lbs, and will fit basically anywhere. In an open room, the sound is good, but if it has an enclosure around the back and sides, the sound becomes immaculate. The only complaint is that this is better for iPods and iPhones that have the 30 pin connector, but this complaint is easily remedied by purchasing the lightning to 30-pin adapter.

Good for use around the pool

I must say I'm not THAT impressed with the sound. Doesn’t sound nearly as good when volume is low. Crank it and it sounds much better. I'm also not a Bose disciple. They make good products but charge too much for them.
I wish it had some sound adjustments, bass, treble and such. I use it for around my pool and it works just fine. I think I could have found something else for fewer dollars!
If your looking for a good plug n play this will work.

Nothing special here, it's just a sound dock for everyone's iphone/ipod. It works but the sound quality isn't all Bose is hyped up to be. It charges while playing, but when 'docked' it's cumbersome to scroll and feels as the plastic 'dock' itself might snap. I personally use a separate 3.5 cord when using an ipod but dock when listening to Pandora. Looks cool, sounds decent, it's Bose, but honestly my $40 Logitech computer speakers sound better. Sorry for not willing to pay $400 for your companion set up either Bose.
