    Boy Meets World: Class Pre-Union
Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) stages a mock class reunion ("Welcome Back Class of 2000") and assigns his students to predict how their adult lives will turn out. When Cory (Ben Savage) announces his plans to become a center fielder, the waspish Feeny gives him a "incomplete" for being unrealistic, a crushing blow for our hero--until he is given a jolt of confidence by real-life major leaguer Jim Abbott). Meanwhile, Morgan (Lily Nicksay) finds herself in deep doo-doo when she trades her mom's valuable necklace for a cheap imitation. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Grandma Was a Rolling Stone
Rue McClanahan guests as Cory's freewheeling grandmother Bernice, who breezes into town with all sorts of fantastic plans and promises (including a Cal Ripkinautograph!) for her grandson. In eager anticipation, Cory (Ben Savage) backs out of a fishing trip with dad Alan (William Russ), who invites his son's buddy Shawn (Rider Strong) along instead. Alas, Grandma blithely reneges on all her promises--and it looks like Cory will never recover from this devastating disillusionment. Meanwhile, Eric (Will Friedle) sets his sights on Mr. Feeny's gorgeous niece, played by no less than Keri Russell). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Boys II Mensa
After cheating on an IQ test, Cory (Ben Savage) is assigned to a special school for brilliant students. Terrified at the prospect, Cory tries to act dumber than usual when the school's representative Mrs. Bertram (Jane Carr) interviews him, only to be "sabotaged" by his parents Alan (William Russ) and Amy (Betsy Randle). Meanwhile, our hero's sister Morgan (Lily Nicksay) surprises one and all with her choice of Halloween costume. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Teacher's Bet
To teach Cory (Ben Savage) a lesson, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) switches places with the boy in class for a week. If Cory finds teaching as "easy" as he thinks, and if more kids pass an upcoming test than usual, Mr. Feeny will give Cory one-fifth of his salary. But if more kids end up failing the test than usual, Feeny will gain possession of Cory's precious bike. The outcome of this story, together with a subplot involving Eric's Asian girlfriend Linda (Lindsay Price), hinges upon Cory's full understanding of the week's class project, "The Diary of Anne Frank." ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Pilot
11-year-old Cory Mathews (Ben Savage) does his best to survive life in junior high school--and Life, period!--in Episode One of Boy Meets World). No sooner have the opening credits faded than Cory has gotten a detention from his acid-tongued teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) for listening to a baseball game during a discussion of "Romeo and Juliet." Turns out our hero could have benefited from the example of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers when he must handle the other big crisis of the week, which begins when his older brother Eric (Will Friedle) scores a couple of tickets for a Phillies game--but instead of taking Cory along, he invites his latest girlfriend. This is the only episode in which the recurring character played by Lee Norris (who otherwise does not appear) is called Stuart Lemple, a name soon altered to "Stuart Minkus" for legal reasons. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: On the Fence
Cory (Ben Savage) wants to participate in his classroom's upcoming water-gun war but doesn't have a "cool" enough weapon. Teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) offers to give Cory $58 to purchase a fancy water-gun in exchange for painting Feeny's shutters. Unfortunately, the impatient Cory does a super-sloppy rush job and his dad Alan (William Russ) orders him to redo the shutters from top to bottom--even if it means missing the big war! This episode marks the first appearance of Lee Norris as bookworm Stuart Minkus. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: The Father/Son Game
Figuring they have better things to do, Cory (Ben Savage) and Eric (Will Friedle) try to get out of playing with their dad Alan (William Russ) in a father/son softball game. To save them the embarrassment, Alan claims that the game was cancelled anyway. When they find out that their dad is lying to spare their feelings, the Matthews boys are sore ashamed. Somehow all this is tied in with Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) and his attempt to explain and interpret the Pledge of Allegiance to Cory and his classmates. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Santa's Little Helper
When Shawn's dad loses his job just before Christmas, Cory (Ben Savage) tries to help his pal save face by purchasing gifts for Shawn to distribute to his classmates. Much to Cory's astonishment, Shawn (Rider Strong) is anything but grateful for this act of kindnenss--in fact, he's downright resentful. Meanwhile, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) shows his softer side when Morgan (Lily Nicksay) despairs over "killing" a department store Santa who suffered a heart attack while she was sitting on his lap! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Killer Bees
When he finds out that the winner of an upcoming geography bee will get to be a batboy at the World Series, Cory (Ben Savage) decides to sign up for the competition. In order to prep for this intellectual exercise, Cory changes places with resident "brain" Minkus (Lee Norris), whereupon an amazing metamorphosis transpires: Cory becomes the class nerd, and Minkus actually turns "cool". Meanwhile, Eric (Will Friedle) is mortified when he attends an Aerosmith concert with his girlfriend, only to see his own parents in the audience! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Cory's Alternative Friends
When Cory's attempt to change his hairstyle goes disastrously wrong, he is shunned by his friends and exiled to the cafeteria table populated by the school's weirdoes and misfits. Before long, however, Cory (Ben Savage) comes to realize that these oddballs are actually okay and shouldn't be judged by their appearance--and even helps his new buddies get an important petition signed. This landmark episode represents the first appearance of Danielle Fishel as the estimable Topanga Lawrence, who was supposed to have been a one-time-only character...However... ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Father Knows Less
Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) flunks Cory (Ben Savage) when the boy falls asleep during a test. This time, however, it was all dad Alan's fault; Alan (William Russ) had let Cory stay up to watch a baseball game to make up for cancelling a promised night out. Unfortunately, Mr. Feeny refuses to let Cory take a makeup exam even when Alan explains the situation, leading to a tense (and pivotal) confrontation between teacher and parent. Incidentally, this episode was based on an actual incident in the childhood of Boy Meets World producer Michael Jacobs. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: The B-Team of Life
Underachiever Cory (Ben Savage) and nerdy Minkus (Lee Norris) manage to make the school's basketball team--not the "A" squad, of course, but the "B" group. Alas, having been relegated to second-class-citizen status, the boys may never get into an actual game. . .and worse, Cory begins to feel like a "B-Team" member of his own family. It is Mr. Feeny (William Daniels), of all people, who gives Cory the pep talk that changes his attitude, yielding results that are surprising indeed. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: She Loves Me, She Loves Not
Invited to speak before Mr. Feeny's class about life after Junior High, Eric (Will Friedle) emphasizes the "coolest" aspects of the experience--and immediately wins the heart of the impressionable Topanga (Danielle Fishel). In order to get closer to Eric, Topanga begins playing up to Cory (Ben Savage), who has no idea what's going on. As a result of the hurt feelings which inevitably ensue, Eric takes it upon himself to speak before the class again...this time with a new message. This episode marks the only appearance of Topanga's weird sister Nebula (Krystee Clark)--and watch for the classic "hamburger switch" routine. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Kid Gloves
Cory (Ben Savage) isn't too concerned when he accidentally loses the silver boxing-glove bracelet given to him by his dad Alan (William Russ) as a birthday present. But his attitude abruptly changes when he finds out that Alan had won the bracelet in a Navy boxing tournament, and thus the trinket is lot more "valuable" than first imagined. In a panic, Cory and Eric (Will Friedle) launch a search for the necklace which ends in the school gym's swimming pool--and would have ended tragically had not Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) appeared in the obligatory Nick of Time. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Model Family
Kathy Ireland is cast as Alexis, the sexy if somewhat duplicitous representative for a shady modeling agency. When Alexis offers Eric (Will Friedle) a modeling job (provided he pay $90 for a portfolio, of course), the starstruck teen quits his job at his dad's store. Figuring that Eric needs to learn a lesson about real life, dad Alan refuses to intervene--and sure enough, Eric sets himself up for a big-time public humiliation. Meanwhile, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) assigns his class to pretend to be "TV families", which is how Cory (Ben Savage) ends up the Dad, Topanga (Danielle Fishel) the Mom, and Shawn (Rider Strong) and Minkus (Lee Norris) the kiddies! Jason Marsden makes his first appearance as Eric's friend...who, by a curious coincidence, is also named Jason Marsden. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Once in Love with Amy
Can it be that the Matthews brothers' mom Amy (Betsy Randle) is having an affair? Well, how else can one explain her weekly outings with a "bowling league" that doesn't exist--to say nothing of the sexy outfits she keeps hidden in her bowling bag? Naturally, Cory (Ben Savage) and Eric (Will Friedle) allow their imaginations to run riot before they find out that Amy is indeed fibbing about going bowling...but not for the reason they suspect! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: Risky Business
While betting on the horse races, Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn (Rider Strong) experience a rush of adrenalin as their winnings miraculously pile up. Before long, the euphoric Cory is taking big risks on everything--which nearly results in disaster when he elects to risk leaving his little sister Morgan (Lily Nicksay) home alone! Elsewhere, Alan (William Russ) celebrates Valentine's Day by suggesting that he and Amy (Betsy Randle) return to the restaurant where he first proposed...but there's a surprise in store for both of them. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

    Boy Meets World: The Fugitive
After one of his practical jokes misfires--literally!--at Alan's store, a desperate Shawn (Rider Strong) hides out in Cory's room. Before long, everyone catches on that Cory (Ben Savage) has a secret, but they say nothing until they're able to gently persuade our hero to fess up. In a pivotal moment, Cory must demonstrate that he doesn't have to lie on Shawn's behalf to prove his friendship--and to prove to Shawn that the world will not end if he admits his wrongdoing. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: The Play's the Thing
Reluctant to play Hamlet in a classroom production (he considers the Melancholy Dane to be a "whiner" in a sissy costume), Cory (Ben Savage) relinquishes the role to nerdy Minkus (Lee Norris)--who can't act his way out of a paper bag. Even so, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) decides to teach you-know-who a lesson by allow Minkus to remain in the role and demoting Cory to a spear-carrying extra. And in a curiously related subplot, Alan (William Russ) seriously considers quitting his job at the store after the district manager cuts his salary by five percent. (PS: This is the episode with the backyard miniature-golf tournament). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: Boys Meet Girl
Emulating a classroom instructional film about the moodswings connected to puberty, Cory (Ben Savage) gets mighty jealous when his pal Shawn (Rider Strong) goes out on his first date. To keep apace with Shawn, Cory decides to begin dating too, and asks Topanga (Danielle Fishel) out--only to have second thoughts when he wakes up and realizes that he's only doing this out of anger, not out of true affection. Who at this point could have guessed how the Cory-Topanga relationship would work out by the time Boy Meets World ended its seven-year run? ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: I Dream of Feeny
Terrified of taking his final exams, Cory (Ben Savage) wishes that his teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) would get sick . When Feeny lands in the hospital with appendicitis, Cory is convinced that he has "the power"--and the prospect is truly nightmarish for our hero. Listen for the pivotal last line in this, the final episode of Boy Meets World's first season (not to mention the final regular appearance of Lee Norris as the nerdy Minkus). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boy Meets World: It's a Wonderful Night
"Deception" is the operative word in this episode, wherein Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn (Rider Strong) try to sneak an R-rated video into the Matthews house right under the nose of their babysitter--who happens to be Cory's eternal nemesis Mr. Feeny (William Daniels). Also, Eric (Will Friedle) tries to hide the fact that he's flunked his driver's test so that he'll still be able to go out on dates. Not unexpectedly, both Cory and Eric end up in the doghouse; what IS unexpected are those earrings that somehow have come into Mr. Feeny's possession! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
