this is supposed to be the 'slow' one of the models I researched. A page scans in less than 30 seconds, so it's fast enough for me. It portable, plug & play with quick set up allows me to scan documents at meetings as I need them. I like that this is powered only via the USB and is small but it scans really slow and often, the creases in the paper cause it to scan crooked.4 out of 4 found this review helpful.

Within the first 50 scans and beyond my window to return, its stopped feeding. First call to Brother was the script "blow it out with air" etc. (worthless). 2nd call they listened to the sounds and sent me a factory refurb. 5 scans into the refurb same symptoms. During my 3rd call with Brother it started feeding again (I presume there is a gear inside that binds or something) that was the end of the call "I cannot help you if its working now", so we agreed I would call back the next time it broke. Looks like I have suceeded in just adding weight to my carry on, if I want to chance being able to scan on the road.13 out of 18 found this review helpful.

It never worked right out of the box. The first receipt - slid all over the place making the scan a blur. I tried several other receipts - same thing. I even tried enclosing receipts in the plastic cover supplied with the product for scanning photos - same thing. It doesn't feed into the rollers, gets stuck, slides from side to side - all making the scan blurry, unfinished and just plain unusable. Oh, after 4 or 5 times - I finally got a readable scan ... but who has time to waste trying to make their product work.5 out of 11 found this review helpful.

I bought this scanner because I have a large cardboard box full of family pictures and I wanted to scan them to save them. So far no luck with pictures on this scanner. The few I tried late at night were scanned in with lines in them. I have not tried to do them since so it may very well be user error.
However I have had a need to scan a lot of documents lately and it orks like a charm. Clear, crisp scans that I can link together as several pages or just one page - while sitting in my recliner.
This thing is very small, fits in the bag with my laptop and is a quick plug and play device.
Really love it, even if the pictures dont scan the way I wanted.39 out of 43 found this review helpful.

It does what I want - scanning old photo's5

Old photo's aren't really clear anyway, but the scans are fine. Newer digital photo's look like the original. I love it - been scanning loads of old photo's while I'm watching TV in my recliner - just set the scanner on the arm of my chair and go to town. Easy to use.
