Although I had learned to work around the limitations of my older ScanSnap - the scanner sometimes skipped pages and getting a high quality scanned document often took time and effort to achieve - I had to dispose of it if I wanted to upgrade to Windows 8. After checking the reviews on several scanners I decided on the Brother Image Center ADS-2000.. I Love this scanner!! Great print quality! It's fast. Handles multiple pages and sizes with ease. High quality scanned copies appropriate for marketing purposes. Highly recommend this scanner! And at a $100 less than the ScanSnap a good value for the price! Feel like I've come out of the dark ages into the light!

Had to use the generic drivers and the PDF Converter Pro software. It works well. (Although I did need to purchase the new version.) Now that the Brother software for windows 8 is released, I have never used it because there is no reason to fix something that is not broken. Have used the Brother utility to configure the scanner. I would purchase again.

I like the fact I can scan to my Mac, to a USB and even directly to an email. It scans fast and allows you to place it directly to a folder. It scans documents, receipts and business cards. I will update this review aftercavfew days.
