Posted by: majorgeek from O'Fallon IL on 05/14/2013Purchased this for my mother in law, her inkjet kept drying up. This model offers a WIRED connection to the LAN (I would never trust a wireless printer connection!) and it duplexes as well!
The BestBuy deal offered a package price on the printer and toner that was too good to pass up. I'm very pleased with this printer.

Easy to setup with iMac and 10.8

Posted by: chanman from Palo Alto, CA on 05/12/2013After problems printing consistently with a Samsung printer, I decided to give the Brother a try. Turns out it was easy to setup and prints reliably. Print quality is good. Too early to tell how long the factory installed toner will last.

Hard to find a better wireless monochrome laser

Posted by: DuluthGuy from Duluth,MN on 05/10/2013I use this printer's big brother the DCP-7060D in my business and love the ease of operation, cost savings with the large TN-450 toner cartridges, and print quality. I needed a wireless printer for my home office and this HL-2270DW has been absolutely great. It uses the same TN-450 toner and fits under my desk so the paper is right within my reach. It could be a little quieter but that is my only complaint. You will love this printer.

Very good for black and white

Posted by: leftarkansas from Texas on 05/02/2013We do I lot of printing documents and coupons, the traditional ink printers used way too much ink for that and was costing to much money so we bought the Brother HL 2270 and it works really well. We liked it so well that when it became important for us to be able to copy we bought another Brother that copies and it works just as well as this one does so we are pleased with both of them.

Good desktop laser printer

The paper loads from a tray, so it doesn't take up a lot of space on a desk. This is probably not a great primary printer, but for a desktop option only used by one person, its does what you need it to do.

"You get what you pay for"

Posted by: DugRTwo from on 04/27/2013After buying one too many ink cartridges for my all-in-one inkjet printer, I decided to purchase a laser printer. I did quite a lot of reading about low price monochrome laser printers and the cost associated with owning one, and in the end I decided on this model. I am a student and a tutor, so I print a lot of black and white text documents. After getting it set up, which was a very quick process, I was just as quickly disappointed.
Even with the "reduce page curl" setting turned on and using a 24# paper, the printed pages almost rolled up due to the page curl. The curl was even worse when using the duplex feature to print on both sides of the paper.
I used the manual paper feed entry for printing on cardstock, which was also a disappointment. Even with the correct paper settings in place, the toner smeared and flaked off the cardstock very easily.
This was my first and last try at owning a laser printer. I returned this printer after a little more than 30 days of owning it.

Fantastic Quality!

This laser printer was a small investment that has already paid for itself. It prints very clearly and much quicker than my old inkjet. The only downside is it seems to take a little while for it to respond to the computer's command. For the price, this is well worth it. I use a commercial laser printer all day at work and this one prints much cleaner!

Great performance for the price

Easy wired set up, but wireless connectivity not well explained and moderately difficult. Big drawback is it can only be used in wired mode or wireless but not both. If you get over that, i would highly recommend this printer for personal use.
