What is satellite radio?

Satellite radio is radio that provides a wealth of news, weather and entertainment stations, including commercial-free music. Because it is produced via an analog or digital radio signal through one or more satellites, satellite radio allows for a much wider geographical reception area than ordinary AM or FM radio.

What is SiriusXM?

SiriusXM Radio Inc. is the world's largest radio broadcaster measured by revenue and has 25 million subscribers. SiriusXM creates and broadcasts commercial-free music; premier sports talk and live events; comedy; news; exclusive talk and entertainment; and the most comprehensive Latin music, sports and talk programming in radio. SiriusXM programming is also available through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App (free to download) for Android and Apple smartphones and other connected devices.


How much do subscription plans cost?

A variety of programming packages and billing plans are available. The most popular package runs a $14.99 a month, and provides over 140 channels, including commercial-free music, plus live sports, exclusive entertainment, 24/7 talk, comedy, news and more. How can I find out whether my vehicle has SiriusXM?

To see if your vehicle already has Sirius or XM built in, press the AUX or SAT band button on your radio controls to scroll through the radio bands. If the service is activated, you can use your radio controls to scan through all of the channels. If your service is not activated, you will only have a limited number of channels available. To activate, call SiriusXM toll-free at 1-866-635-2349.


How will I know if I'm eligible for a free vehicle SiriusXM trial?

Most new and select pre-owned vehicles equipped with SiriusXM offer some complimentary services. To find out if your car comes with a trial, check any in-vehicle materials, or ask your dealer for details. You can also call SiriusXM toll-free at 1-877-488-6250. Be prepared to have your vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) handy.


What if I want SiriusXM in more than one vehicle?

There are a number of ways to get SiriusXM in an additional car. Your car or truck may already be equipped with satellite radio, in which case you can sign up for an additional subscription. If your vehicle doesn't already have satellite radio, you'll need to add a radio. Sirius offers a portable option as well as dock-and-play radios that easily move from car-to-car and car-to-home. You may also be eligible for a discount on your second through fourth subscriptions.


Can I get SiriusXM radio in my leased car?

Yes. Many new vehicles, whether leased or purchased, come equipped with SiriusXM and offer some level of complimentary service. Check with your dealer to see if you are eligible for a trial.


If I buy or lease a car, can I transfer my subscription to my new vehicle?

Yes. On most plans you can transfer a subscription to another radio for just $15. If, however, you have a lifetime subscription associated with an automotive receiver, it will not be transferable unless the receiver was stolen or is defective. A complimentary or trial subscription cannot be transferred.


What does it mean if my vehicle is Sirius- or XM-ready?

If your vehicle is Sirius- or XM-ready, it was equipped at the factory with a radio to receive Sirius or XM satellite radio. But you may still need an antenna or a Sirius or XM tuner installed. Contact your car dealer for more details.


How do I install SiriusXM in my vehicle?

Where should I mount my radio in my vehicle?

I installed SiriusXM and listen over my FM radio. Does the FM frequency I select affect my audio performance?

The FM frequency selected can affect your sound. Some frequencies work better than others, depending on your location. To find the FM channel that works best in your area, visit www.siriusxm.com.


Can I use a previously installed dock and antenna to receive SiriusXM?

Using a previously installed dock and antenna with satellite radio service will depend on the make and model of the radio and if it's compatible with that particular dock and antenna. Refer to the radio's user manual or visit www.siriusxm.com for more information.


How do I activate my radio(s)?

There are two ways to activate your radio. Visit SiriusXM's simple online activation process at www.siriusxm.com/activate or call SiriusXM listener care at 1-866-635-2349. You will need your Radio ID (also called an ESN or SID), which is displayed by tuning to channel 0. If it's not, you can use the "Menu" function of your radio to display it. Be sure to power the radio on first, and the antenna is facing skyward.


Where do I find my Username & Password?

To log in to your account online, you'll need your username and password to set up your account online. We've tried to make it easy by including your username in your welcome kit.


How can I get a radio signal?

This is the exciting part. We need to send out a signal in order to "activate" your radio. Just turn your radio on with the antenna facing skyward and tune to channel 0 on a XM radio.


How do I manage my SiriusXM account?

The fastest, easiest way to manage your account is to log in to the Online Account Center on the SiriusXM website. You can also call 1-866-635-2349 which is available Monday–Saturday from 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. ET and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. ET.

Why my subscription was automatically renewed?

Like your cable or telephone service, SiriusXM is a continuing service that is billed at the frequency you select at the time of your initial subscription purchase. For example, you can select to be billed on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or a longer term, and your service continues without interruption. You may cancel at any time by calling 1-866-635-5020. Charges will be prorated for the days of service received between your last bill date and cancellation date.


What payment and billing options does SiriusXM provide?

SiriusXM accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit cards, as well as all debit cards. You can also pay with a SiriusXM prepaid service card. You can also set up paper (invoice) billing.
