This is an easy to use lens, auto focus works great. I would suggest you use auto focus if you are having problems of your pics coming out blurry, once you get used to the settings i would suggest using it on manual to get the pics you want. This is a wonderful lens, super easy to use with professional results. I purchased it primarily to photograph my grandkids sporting events and it takes great action shots in all kinds of lighting conditions. I am not learning about it's many other capabilities.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Bundled discount makes it worthwhile4

I got this lense as part of a bundle that included a Canon T31 camera. The amount of zoom was not what I hoped for--not a huge difference from the lense that came with the camera--but it does seem to take better portrait photos. Specifically, it you like the "blurred background" effect, this lense seems better able to create it than the lense that came with the camera. The image stabilizer also works well with this lense--which is the main reason I chose this lense over one of the other bundled lenses. At the discounted bundle price, I'm glad to have it. If I had to pay full price, I would probably pass over this lense in favor of something with more zoom.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

I love this lense, it works great when taking action shots of our kids during sporting events. Such high quaility pictures are generating questions from our friends on facebook. They cannot believe the quality pictures it takes in poor lighting conditions.6 out of 6 found this review helpful.

I was looking at the 300/75 lense but the salesperson pointed out that that particular lense did not have ISO and I am so happy I purchased this lense. It takes great pictures and you don't have to have steady hands. I took it deer hunting with me and took beautiful pictures of birds and nature..I love it.5 out of 5 found this review helpful.

Best Buy was running a promotion that allowed me to purchase this lens at 1/2 price ($150) when I purchased a select cannon camera the same day . The lens works well, in both manual and auto focus modes, with my canon rebel.
I find it difficult to use this lens for indoor photos due to the extreme telephoto capability, It requires me to be at least 10 feet away in order to fit the subject in the field of view.
