Good lens, but noisy

Posted by: rmbrand from Spring, TX on 06/15/2013I have been using this lens for my business for about a month now and I find it is way too noisy to use for shooting footage. A prime is always a good way to go, but the telephoto capabilities were important for many of my close-up and extreme close-up shots required for a few scenes. The image quality is amazing with very shallow depth-of-field, but the stabilization mechanism in the lens is noisy. In fact, too noisy.
The noise would be a problem if you were shooting still at a wedding, a funeral or any other place where it would get very quiet. But if that isn't a problem for you, then this is a great buy for the quality you're getting.
