Posted by: from Pittsburgh on 05/21/2013Great buy, got it in deal of the day. The only complaint I have is the size of the printer. It is very big. I need to buy a stand to place it next to my work desk as it is big for the desk. Prints both photo and document with great depth.

Printer does NOT work for OSX 10.4.11

Minimum System Requirements
PC: Windows XP, Vista and 7; Mac: OS 10.4.11 - 10.7.x
I bought the printer based on the operating system info, as I have an older PowerBook that just keeps on running.
However the box says OSX 10.5.8, which is an Intel powered Mac so I would have to buy a new computer just to use the printer. I cannot even download the manual from the disk to see if there are any ways to use the printer. What a disappointment, as I use Canon photo equipment only and like their quality. There have been a few bad reviews on its quality as a printer but I couldn't tell you one way or another. Be sure you check the O/S of your computer before buying. Oh well...

Great printer for a small business.

I was able to use the scanner with ease. It was so self explanitory ( using the menu function ), I didn't even need to use the manual. So far...this is the best printer I have ever owned.

Disappointed in Canon product and Best Buy

Posted by: SSinTX from on 05/17/2013Funny that I got this today since I was on the phone with Best Buy this morning trying to return this product. I've had it 30 days and have printed less than 50 pages. It's not physically broken it's just a terrible product. It should be wireless but it gives a "communication" error constantly, which required me to walk to the room (wireless-ha) and turn it off and on, and then it just went completely "offline". Now it won't do anything. I called Best Buy and they told me since I wasn't a "Silver" member I only had 15 days to make a return. The printer was slow but it basically worked for the first 20 days. It is a wireless printer but seems to have major problems with wireless communication. All the lights on the printer show that it is connected wirelessly but it does not "talk" to my router or my Mac. Best Buy said that they had no ability to help with Canon products and I would have to go to Canon website for support. I explained that their sales associate helped me pick that product and I wished she had explained that there would be no Best Buy help with Canon products. After having so many problems I started to read reviews and the issues I have seem to be common with this model. Had it been broken out of the box I would have returned it within 15 days but since it just doesn't work right I'm out of luck and out of my money. Not pleased with Canon or Best Buy.

The data transfer speed is quite good over the wireless network. So this is very convenient. The print quality is quite good for both regular documents and photos. I would definitely recommend this printer!
