Posted by: SEA33 from Columbia, SC on 05/18/2013Good router and excellent range. Blazing fast speeds and great signal strength throughout my house. My house is 3200 sq. feet and this router provides excellent coverage for the whole house. I also bought the WUMC media adapter and it works great. Wish the router had more technical web pages so you could see packets sent and packets received, along with packets dropped and delayed so that you can see how your network is really performing.

Big Disappointment
1
Posted by: WiFiMan from Florida on 05/17/2013The router is a very big disappointment. Although Cisco boasts higher rates, the USB drive interface falls way short of satisfactory and is at least 10 times slower than the EA4500… so slow it is almost not usable. Cisco tech support said that there were no firmware updates planned to improve performance and it was interesting that the EA4500 was faster.

Very Buggy,

Posted by: ChuckKnol from Indianapolis, IN on 05/17/2013I had several devices connected to this router on a regular basis (2 iPhones; 2 Kindle Fires, iPad, 2 laptops, an Xbox360 and Sonos speakers) and had tons of problems. It would constantly kick one of my Sonos speakers off and I would have to run through set up on a daily basis. This was never a problem with my Linksys WRT310N which I retired to get better range and a better feature set. I have NAS hardwired to the router as well as a Sonos Bridge. Tech support was not much help with the issues i was experiencing, so I went out and checked some of the blogs and many people are experiencing similar if not more profound issues with this router. I did not want to wait for a firmware update, so I returned it with 30 days and exchanged it for the ASUS which is great so far.

Great Range, Great Speed, Great Router!

Posted by: washamur from Texas on 05/14/2013I was needing a router that could handle close to 15 different devices, at least 4-5 using the network at the same time. My house is your average sized house, but with many walls and new insulation, the old router could not reach devices on the other side of the house. On top of that, it would stop working all together. After careful research, and weighing my options I decided on this router. I was using a DLink DIR-655 which was plenty fast, but this one is absolutely great. I love the SimpleTap option for NFC-enabled devices.
All-in-all it is a great router, very dependable, and a snap to set-up. Yes it is a little expensive, but will do everything you need it to.
