Dud out of the box1

I realize anyone can get some bad RAM, but this is the second time I've bought a pair of Corsair where one out of the two sticks have been defective. Tried to upgrade a laptop and only after some error discovered one of the sticks was bad. This same thing happened when upgrading a coworkers laptop recently as well. Two out of two purchases isn't very good odds, so I have to give this a dud.
It also doesn't help that it took me 20 minutes to get out of the store, as they had this one sale and no one bothered to update the pricing in the cash registers, causing the VERY inexperienced cashier to nearly have a nervous breakdown, as well.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

This memory kit works great on my laptop. 8GB is the maximum amount of memory my particular laptop supports, so this kit was perfect for what I needed it for.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

I work on computers/phone lines every day for a living, so I have a pretty good base knowledge. I thoroughly researched the specs on my pc to ensure the new memory (upgrade) matched the current memory spec for spec (except the GBs, of course). It does match and from everything I found before and after, it SHOULD be compatible, but its not. Bought it yesterday, picked it up today, & (hopefully) returning today during their secret sale.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

Good ram but slow, better alternatives for Mac...3

Well, the first pack I bought had a bad stick as evidenced by MemTest86+ so I exchanged that for a new one and that one worked.
This RAM is good and is also cheap but it has a CAS latency of 9 which is slower than the 7 Apple uses...
In MemTest86+ this equates to about 200 megabytes per second less performance from this RAM compared to the apple RAM
do yourself a favor and pay the extra for CL7 RAM if you are putting it in a 2009 MacBook Pro- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

Bought this memory upgrade for my son's laptop-went from 2GB to 8. Graphics much smoother, system less taxed while performing tasks. Well worth the <$50 I paid.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

After looking at the price for memory for my late 2011' Macbook Pro 2.4GHz i5 on apple's website and seeing a price of $200 for 8GB, I knew there had to be a cheaper alternative. At $59.99 for 8GB of memory for my Macbook Pro, that price is hard to beat considering the alternatives. The hardest part was finding a screwdriver small enough to remove the bottom cover of my mac. Took all of 5 minutes and the memory work! I saw the speed difference especially with web surfing. Going to youtube and viewing a 720 HD video is a good test to see if the memory increase is apparent and I saw the difference.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

Bought this today to upgrade my mid-2010 Macbook Pro from 2x2GB ram to 2x4GB ram. The salesman raved about how Mac friendly this memory is but my Mac wouldn't boot up with this ram installed. I made sure it was installed correctly and tried swapping card slots to no avail. Went back to the original ram that came with my MBP and it booted right up. This might work well for PC's but not so for the Mac. I tried Command>Option>P>R to reset the ram too and it didn't work. I'm back to buying the Kingston upgrade on amazon since it worked perfectly for my iMac.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes
