Posted by: from Appleton, WI on 03/03/2013Bought to upgrade from a 450 w generic best buy brand PS after a month of use couldn't be happier. Runs so quiet compared to the old one. I've never had the clicking some people report. Easy to install and organize the wires. Needed this for a video card upgrade and still have a pci-e cable if I go SLI

    Great Power Supply
    5
Posted by: from NY on 02/09/2013Installed quick and easy. Plenty of adapters so there shouldn't be any issues powering your rig. Quiet, and lights are a cool feature. It has it's own fan which only kicks on if needed.

DO NOT buy this winderful power supply
    2
Posted by: from madison wi on 02/08/2013I bought this on a whim because a more expensive PSU I purchased online would not have arrived in time and my new graphics card was not compatible with my old PSU. Got this home, hooked it up and powered on my new i7 3770k, Sabertooth z77, DC2 680 TOP, gaming rig. While doing heavy loads the machine got very noisy. I thought it was one of the two fans on the motherboard, so I disconnected one of them. Seemed to help. Then later the noise came back. Eventually looked at the PSU, and noticed that while under load, the fan constantly spools up and powers down, over and over again, and while slowing to a stop and starting from a stop it makes a horrible noise, audible over even loud gaming. I have looked into the issue and it occurs in nearly every PSU of this series (GS). Corsair is good with their RMA I'm told, but they did not send me the return materials they said they would, and would not send me a replacement before I sent in the defective one, and I was not going to be out a computer for a week or more because they messed up making my PSU. Now I'm stuck with it and will just replace it down the line when I can, ASAP, and keep it in the closet as an emergency backup >.> In the end, if you buy this, you will likely need to RMA it to Corsair or return it for another product. Save the trouble and buy a different product (Corsair would still be a good choice, just not the GS series).

Bad PSU right out of box!!!
    1
Posted by: from on 02/02/2013I bought this power supply at my local best buy and right after installing I noticed something seemed odd with the way it was running. Fan was running all the time really loudly. Then a few days later my games were crashing. After shutting down the computer, I tried turning it back on. The computer would act as if it was trying to boot up but nothing was displaying on my monitor. This PSU is far from high quality and was returned within the 30 day return period. I ended up buying the Corsair HX series which has great reviews and no problems so far.

The corsair 700 watt ATX power supply IS GARBAGE!
    1
Posted by: from Schaumburg il on 01/27/2013The corsair 700 watt ATX power supply that I got was a lemon from day one!! I had professionally installed into a Cool Master case and whenever I played my MMO game it made a series of annoying clicks and buzzes. Even after I was done playing my game it went right on clicking and buzzing. After two weeks I finally had the techs remove it and replaced with a 850 watt unit of another brand. Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM CORSAIR BRAND LIKE THE PLAUGE!! ULTRA POOR QUALITY!!!

Why YOU Should not get this PSU
    1
Posted by: from WI on 01/09/2013The reason why i bought my psu is because i got a new graphics card and need a new psu so i bought this one. I works but after it heats up makes a clearly audible ticking noise which is not caused by the fan. So i thought no big deal and took it back to get a new one the new one did the same thing and because of this reason i will be taking it back and purchasing a different one.

    Replaced 650 W power supply
    5
Posted by: from Orange, TX on 12/13/2012When the power supply went out on our desktop computer, we took the old one to Best Buy. A member of the Geek Squad recommended the Corsair 700 W power supply. My husband, an electronics tech, was able to replace it himself, and now my computer is working perfectly again.

    I was sold a dud.

Posted by: from Manchester, NH on 11/07/2012After spending 5 hours of putting my new computer together, I try to start it up and.....nothing! Absolutely Nothing! The fans didn't spin, No boot up screen, nothing! I only bought this one because the guy that worked there recommended it to me. I don't think I'll be purchasing computer parts from this location any more. At least I got a nice paper weight out of this headache.
