I bought my laptop and ordered the additional memory 2 days later. I typically don't upgrade a computer once I bring it home, but this time I did. I run Photoshop (8 GB recommended) and plan to tether a high end professional camera to this laptop. I wanted to be certain that the speed available to the OS would be beyond adequate for my needs and I feel this upgrade was vital to that plan. A Geek Squad employee helped me choose the appropriate RAM for my laptop from several choices. Geek Squad did the install in a very timely manner.. Geek Squad Rocks!- Build or modify your own PC : No

I bought this to improve my laptop performance from 8GB -16GB Ram Memory. the computer was fast, handled a few multiple Apps at a time. However I can see the difference after installing the memory. fast loading of computer/programs. NO MORE SLOW LOADING!!! Plus more multiple Apps all the time.This product does what it says. I've come to find Corsair is a dependable brand name. The price was right and very easy to install. I think less than 5 minutes total.- Build or modify your own PC : Yes

16GB PC3-12800 DDR3, NOT Apple compatible1

Ordered this for my 15" mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It appears based on the details to be compatible with my computer. Installed the memory and almost immediately the video starts to be scrambled and the unit freezes frequently and without warning. Digging into the information with one of my friends the Apple specific is 1.35v not 1.5v so the higher voltage will result in instability with longer usage.

Works on Macbook Pro4

I've been using this RAM on a 2012 i7@2.6Ghz Macbook Pro for almost a month already, no problems.
At this point I cannot give a technical review since I have not been able to test benchmarks compared to the Hynix memory that comes from Apple.
You won't notice speed improvement of the system by itself, but it does noticeable improve multitasking. On the other hand, I am running OSX 10.8.2 which to me seems slower than 10.7 Lion...
So I does work with Macbook Pro 2012 and even with older 2011 as it can down clock to 1333Mhz.
I have currently tested it running Parallels 8 with 8GB dedicated to the virtual machine setup and works pretty well.
Is it worth the extra bucks compared to value ram?... maybe, I still have to check benchmarks, sorry.6 out of 9 found this review helpful.

I ordered this product from Best Buy, took about a week, Had Geek Squad install it and found out one of the cards didnot work. They had to re-order it and took a few weeks, but Best Buy redeemed them selfs buy giving me a discount on the 16 GB memory cards. Had Geek Squad reinstall the memory so far works good. My PC is Lightning Fast.... and I'm very pleased my purchase. I plan on holding on to this new pc for awhile so that is why I wanted to max out the memory.- Build or modify your own PC : No
