Great wireless option for hours of gaming.
    5
Posted by: from South Bend, IN on 04/22/2013My wife recently wanted me to get her a wireless headset. Shorly after seeing her walk around the house and still be able to listen to music or talk on skype, I found myself jealous and purchased this headset for gaming. My first impression was how amazingly comfortable the headset was. No strains, pains or headaches after my first 10 hours (straight) of wearing the headset. The battery, which I fully charged prior to turning on, actually lasted over 9 hours. Impressive! The headset has a feature that will cause it to "beep" every few minutes or so when the battery is at 10%. The beeping started just under the 9 hour mark and it lasted another hour before dying. The added ability to charge the headset while it is on adds to continuous play. Out of the box, I noticed there were no disks included with the headset. Although windows did recognize the headset as a USB device, the sound quality was nowhere near what it should have been. A quick stop at Corsairs website yielded the necessary drivers and software, enabling the full surround sound and beautiful sound. After my first three days of gaming, I can say that I was impressed by the sound quality. When playing Black Ops 2, I could distinguish footsteps or shots fired behind me. Although not perfect, as the "rear" sounds seemed like the sounds were coming from above my head instead of behind, I could still distinguish what was supposed to be from behind and react accordingly. Another problem I acknowledged was that, while playing Black Ops 2, anytime there was an explosion near me or an EMP went off, there was a tremendous amount of distortion/feedback from the headset. Like the bass was trying to reach a range it could not. Again, a quick trip to google and corsair's forums for the headset, yielded a thread detailing a quick fix. Essentially, you have to go into the properties, set up the headset as surround sound and edit the limitations for its bass frequency output. This did not appear to affect the sound quality any more than getting rid of the crazy feedback. I have owned this headset for almost three weeks now and I must say that I do not agree with at least one other review posted below. I have owned many wired gaming headsets similar to these, and they have all broken at the ear cups, leaving them dangling by wires. I have not had any problems with this headset in any way. Personally, I feel the the fact that the ear cups rotate so you can lay the headset flat will add to its lifespan. As long as you don't sit on these, they should last you an extremely long time. Overall, I enjoy this headset tremendously. The battery life is superb (surpassing my phone), sound quality is at the level expected from a mid-range headset (this isn't a $600 headset, btw) and the wireless option allows you to walk around and listen to music, skype or whatever else you need to do.

Posted by: from Bossier, LA on 03/19/2013These headsets have by far been great. i like doing multiple things when im on my computer and that basically has to do with talking to people and listening on certain stuff. When playing music and talking to old friends i can hear both at perfect sound volume to where one sound is blocking another out. easy setup for the most part. good battery life.

    Stay away

Posted by: from MAINE on 03/18/20131. Volume controls often doesn't respond when increasing and decreasing vol. Fitting is very loose not able to adjust to your head size like others. Breaks very easy even when u pull the head pieces away from your head it may snap. its may of cheap plastic where the insert is for the speakers. Has good sound quality but no better than most headsets you buy and pay less for.Buy a creative headset HS-1200 is a much better buy than this one I suggest that u save your money and not buy this.

    Heavy Sound
    4
Posted by: from on 02/08/2013I thought the sound was pretty good when I got them, but I was concerned about the durability, so I returned them and got the Plantronics Gamecon 780 with warranty. I think the Plantronics sound about the same FR wise, but have better surround effect. The Corsair 2000 feels heavy and weighs down on the top of your head, but have good memory foam. Overall, the Corsair seems substatial and sounds pretty good, but I think the Gamecons are a better value and I like them more.

    Best headset I've ever bought
    5
Posted by: from Ypsilanti, MI on 12/26/2012This is by far the best headset I've ever bought for my computer, wireless or otherwise. Quick 1min or less setup on Win 7, simply plug in the USB adapter once the headset has been charged, Windows will download and install the drivers, push/hold the power button on the left ear cup for 3 sec and boom you're done! I haven't had any range issues in my apartment so far (max dist about 31ft) without cut-outs. The sound is simply amazing with excellent range for movies and gaming. Turned on Bass boost, loudness equalization and virtual surround in the Windows Playback adapters properties for them and talk about incredible sound. They are extremely comfortable as well. The top head cushion is similar to the extremely comfortable padding on Beats headphones and the ear cup has a very comfortable cloth padding. So far I've worn them for a maximum for 8hrs straight without the battery dying or having any discomfort whatsoever. Definitely a must buy.

This is the best headset around
    5
Posted by: from North Augusta South Carolina on 12/10/2012I purchased the Astro a50 gaming headset from Astro Gaming. That was a total waste of my time. That was the crappies $300 headset ever. The tech support is worst. I purchased my Vengeance 2000, because it has cloth ear cups. This makes it easier on gaming for long times. One cool thing is, it has the same setup as my old g930 headset. You use a usb “dongle” to connect the headset to the computer. This bypasses using your sound card completely and offers superior sound. The spatial quality and positioning sound is awesome. The comfort of the headset is also great. It hugs my head and weighs less to nothing. Also, the tech support from Corsair is great. You have phone and email support. I posted a question as to being able to use the headset while its connected to the charging cable. Even though the web site says a 24 hour response, I got a response in less than 12 hours. Tech support confirmed I can use my headset while it’s connected to the charging cable. You can’t beat these. The product is great and the tech support for them is great. I love these so much I went and bought a set for my wife.

Great Wireless Headset for PC Gaming
    5
Posted by: from Minneapolis, MN on 12/05/2012I upgraded from a Vengeance 1500 to a 2000 simply because I was tired of the cord getting in my way. The 1500 and 2000 sound very similar, the 2000 just adds wireless. I really enjoy the headset and highly recommend it.

Little expensive, but amazing sound and comfort
    5
Posted by: from Saint Cloud, MN on 08/31/2012Just bought this yesterday and wanted to put a review up for other users. First impressions: seems durable; not all cheap plastic, but still flexible. Super comfortable. The over-the-ears part is made of a soft cloth memory foam. I haven't put it through a long gaming session yet, but I do not think it will get uncomfortable. The range is the only questionable part. While I use it for gaming and won't ever leave it's range, I decided to test it. It goes ~20 feet before cutting out. There's no fade at its maximum range, it just cuts out completely. Walls and corners seem to be okay (maybe a tiny flicker of static) as long as you don't pass the maximum range. The sound quality is amazing. Even at its maximum range I can still hear sounds very crisply. Overall: If you are looking for a quality wireless headset and don't mind paying a little extra, this is a good buy.
