Posted by: from Oklahoma on 05/02/2012Counl not get it activated on line (first) and then by telephone. Very confusing. I finally took it to Best Buy and even they had a hard time with the activation????? Have had no problems since. The user manual does not go into much detail on how to set everything up. Its hard for a first time user. I like the monthly usage charge and no contract

for a basic android device this works fine

Posted by: from on 04/25/2012for a basic android device this works fine, considering you won't find a music player like this for so little, for games it's ok, though games as simple as angry birds do lag quite a bit good: cheap great mp3 player, great for internet radio like slacker, gps works instantly i only use it on wifi so don't know about phone, and data

Great phone for fourty bucks, terrible signal!
2
Posted by: from Erie, PA on 04/22/2012Phone works well for the price but cricket's signal is terrible. I have no signal at the intersection of I79 and I 90, spotty all along 79 until nearly pittsburgh. I have never seen a full 3g signal anywhere. The music deal is cool but there is no signal, it takes forever to download anything most of the time. Also when searching music, you cant read the full title or description, very difficult to browse unless you know exactly what you are looking for (if they have it). You can only download their music on a cell signal, wont work on wifi so with their terrible network it is nearly useless. I am ditching this for a tracfone smart phone, they have decent signal!

Great product, pretty simple
5
Posted by: from Wisconsin on 04/07/2012I love this phone. It is very simple (for me anyways) plus it has the option of muve music for a certain amount of money each month for and unlimited amount of songs you can get (which i got). Another great thing about this phone is some of the top apps like angry birds are free instead of 99 cents in the app store on an iphone, ipad, or ipod. Plus the "app store" on this phone also has almost all the games that the app store on the iphone, ipad, or ipod has. All in all i think this is a great phone especially for people who don't have much experience with smart phones as long as someone shows you how to use it. *YOU NEED A GMAIL ACOUNT FOR THIS PHONE*

This phone is quite disappointing
1
Posted by: from Lake Worth, TX on 02/22/2012I have had this phone for a little over a month now. The signal is always very poor. The Muve Music is nice, but is also very slow . I spent a little over $200 to get the phone up and running. Overall I have been very disappointed with the cricket service. I will never get another phone with cricket services again! I would take it back if I could.

Cricket is the worst company ever!!!
1
Posted by: from on 01/10/2012I purchased this phone because the music caught my eyes. Besides the slow capabilities, the service sucks. I purchased the phone on 12/10/11 & on Cricket website it stated that for $55 the phone was unlimited everything including talk. On 12/24/11 I was unable to use the phone cause I received a prompt stated I needed to top up the account. I called customer service & I was uniformed about the plan I was using. I then added another $55 to the account. On 1/10/12 my phone was de-activated when I had $23 on the account. I was told I didnt have enough money on the account to start the new monthly cycle over. FYI...When you put money on Cricket phone, it dont give you 30days to use the money from the date you purchase the minutes. Its goes off the date that you originally put money on the phone or purchase the phone, Example; Purchase 01/01/12 on 02/01/12 you will need $55 on the account in order to use it regardless of the amount thats left on the phone as of 02/01/12 you will have to add money to the account to bring it up to $55 to use the reminder money (you will not be able to use the phone!!!), The date it gives you when u top up the account is really telling u that if you dont have enough money to top up the account on 02/01/12 that you hav until that date to bring the account to $55 b4 u lose the remaining balance. But if Im on a pay-as-u go phone why I cant use the balance until that date. But no not Cricket A RIp OFF!!!

Great Smart Phone
4
Posted by: from Houston TX on 01/09/2012I bought the phone for my 12 year old daughter ($79 no contract phone) and she is really liking it. It is really easy to use and download apps and games from the Droid Market place. You can load music onto mini SD card and play without problems. Pros: Great look, Easy to use, touch screen, buttons and funtion is very easy, very long battery life, free apps-games, very nice ear buds included, and high resolution display screen. Cons: Sometimes seems slow (maybe needs better processor or less apps loaded), freeze up on games sometimes, camera doesn't have a flash, and netflix apps doesn't seem to match sound-video.

A Good Mid-Range Android Handset from Cricket
5
Posted by: from Eau Claire, WI on 09/28/2011So I have to say, the main reason that I picked up this handset was because of the fact that I really wanted to try out Muve music. It was just an incredibly intruiging idea to me, paying $55 a month for unlimited music, talk, text, and web (though they apparently slow you down after 500 MB). So far, I am not in any way disappointed, as the Vitality is a great handset and Cricket's newly-expanded service is quite reliable. Here are some of my thoughts so far about the phone and the service. The Device: First thing's first, you have to realize that you're on a prepaid carrier here, though the lines between contract and prepaid are beginning to cross. This means that you're not going to get a phone with a dual-core processor or anything, but the Samsung Vitality is an awesome mid-range phone good for new smartphone users or even experienced ones looking to save a buck. The Screen: When I opened the box, I was surprised to see that the screen for the Vitality was actually made out of glass, not plastic like some other prepaid smart phones like the Optimus V from Virgin Mobile. This is a great touch (yes, pun intended), as it makes everyday use much more enjoyable. Colors of the screen also popped and were very vibrant. The only gripe I had with the screen was that it has a pretty terrible resolution of 320x480 pixels, and on a 3.5 inch screen, you're going to notice quite a bit of pixelation. As stated before, however, this doesn't really matter too much, as the nice glass feel and great color production help to deter from the low resolution. The Build Quality: Lately smart phone buyers have come to expect the same build quality over and over from Samsung: plastic, plastic, and more plastic. The Vitality doesn't differ here, though with it's textured back and soft red plastic touch, the device actually looks and feels nice in the hand. I had no gripes here except for the fact that the camera area in the back is made of some pretty low-grade plastic that looks like it would scratch quite easily over time. Performance: The Vitality sports an 800 Mhz processor, which basically means that it's not going to be the fastest phone on the market by a long shot, but it will get the job done for most users. Graphically intensive games like Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja (especially Fruit Ninja) will show significant lag at times because of the absence of dedicated graphics memory, but the typical user shouldn't mind that. Samsung has only provided the user around 140 MB of memory for apps, which is not nearly enough. You'll have to rely quite often on the 1 GB of SD card storage you're allocated for most of your apps. The phone was pretty speedy in most of my tests. The browser lagged a lot on large pages like Engadget or PhoneDog, but loaded mobile pages fine and actually zipped through them quite fluidly. You'll run out of ram quickly while using many apps, but simply backing out of the ones you're not using should help. What's included? Samsung includes your usual manuals in the box with the Vitality, but is also nice enough to include a very nice set of in ear headphones with a tangle-free cord. The headphones produce great audio quality compared to something like the earbuds that come with iPods and iPhones. You'll also find a charger and data sync cable in the box, as well as manuals that demonstrate how to activate your phone and use the Muve Music service. Battery Life: Batter life is what you would expect from an Android phone, but better than the rest. The Vitality has a 1600 MaH battery, which is pretty good for a smart phone of its caliber. It should last you through the day until bedtime with moderate usage, but not if you're downloading a lot of music with Muve. If you plan to do that quite a bit throughout the day, plan to bring a charger along. Camera: Even though there's only a 3.2 Megapixel camera on the Vitality, it took really great shots in well lit areas during my testing. I took quite a few macro shots and the camera never had any problems. Auto-focus was great, and color reproduction was ok, if not washed out at times. Still, it was greater than I expected and should suit the needs of most. The Service: Muve Music: I have to say that I'm absolutely in LOVE with Muve Music. It's so simple to use. Basically, you're provided with a Muve Music SD card that's already in the phone (leave it there or you might have problems downloading from Muve). You go in, sign up quickly with Muve, and you're off downloading. Muve only works with 3G, but I was able to download a full 10 song album in about 2 minutes. Surprisingly, audio fidelity of the highly compressed song files is actually really great, which is probably a credit to Muve's "new compression technology" that they've been toting. Like I stated earlier, in order to use Muve, you MUST use the SD card provided, or you won't be able to download anything. This is basically so you can't steal any music from them, which makes sense. The included card will give you 3 gigs of music space, which seems like too little, but you have to consider that all of the songs are highly compressed. Cricket states that the average user will be able to fit 3,000 songs onto 3 gigs, which is pretty impressive. The Cell Service: Cricket literally just launched in Eau Claire, Wisconsin where I live, and I've had absolutely no problems with calls, 3G speeds, or texts. The network has been very consistent, and I haven't had any dropped calls whatsoever. It should be noted that Cricket is piggybacking Sprint in my area, so that might be why I haven't experienced any problems. The Price: You'll pay $55 as of right now for Cricket's service, which is pretty good. Something to keep in mind is that though you will get unlimited text and somewhat unlimited talk (they estimate the average user uses less than 1000 minutes a month), you will only get 500 MB of data. Whether or not they simply slow you down or cut you off after that is something I don't know, but I do know that if you connect to wifi to surf the internet and upload pictures to Facebook, you'll be fine. It should also be stated that your Muve Music song downloads don't count against your 500 MB of data. Overall, I love this phone, and I'm excited about what Cricket's doing with Muve Music in an Android world where everything is the same. I would totally recommend anyone give them a shot.

Muve Music is Fantastic!!!
5
Posted by: from Northern KY on 09/15/2011I have had Muve Music from Cricket Wireless for several months and look forward to buying the new Muve Samsung Vitality Smartphone. I have always wanted the best of both worlds (Smartphone and Muve) and now it has come to Best Buy. Sign me up!!! The best thing about Muve is the music is built into the monthly rate plan. When I want the best music available I simply search and download directly to my phone. I never leave my house without my phone so my music goes with me everywhere. When I am bored it is with me, when I am stressed it is with me. And because the system is Bluetooth compatible I simply beam my music to my Bluetooth enabled stereo at home to listen to my favorite music. I know I pay a monthly fee, however it seems like the music is included for free. Great Value, Great Product.
