Synopsis

The end of the world has come — but the adventure is only beginning. Accused of prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, is dishonored and stripped of his powers. Now he must return to Earth to seek out the forces of evil that deceived him and rain punishment down on those truly responsible. Navigating a path across the ravaged remains of Earth, War must forge uneasy alliances with demons even as he hunts them, evade the pursuit of vengeful Angels and expose a deep and deadly conspiracy mired in the ongoing battle between the forces of Heaven and Hell.

Experience the devastating power of one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as you play as the fearsome War in Darksiders. Mount your fiery red phantom steed, Ruin, and embark on an epic journey through a massive, demon-riddled world where you can wield weapons both angelic and demonic to exert your terrible wrath. Unleash supernatural abilities in the course of your epic, apocalyptic quest, learning new abilities and uncovering ancient relics as you advance. Wreak vengeance upon all who stand in your way, mowing down the forces of both Heaven and Hell as you clear a way to the very harbinger of Armageddon, the nefarious Destroyer.

Overall Satisfied

If I wanted to play portal I would have got the OB

Posted by: from Michigan on 09/28/2010Darksiders is a mixed bag, on one had it plays much like an improved God of War. With great graphics, clever levels and outstanding action. Then just when you think the game will be one of your all time favorites, it becomes a poor mans version of Portal. You will literally spend the last 1/3rd (usually the most important part of an action game) of Darksiders playing Portal, of course the Darksiders version is not nearly as good as Portal and will be a cakewalk for those who have played Portal. Overall I was happy with about 2/3rds of Darksiders, my advice is to get the Orange Box first as you get way more bang for the buck then pickup Darksiders after beating Portal if it's on sale. This way you can cruise through the last parts without getting frustrated and enjoy the small amount of fighting left at the end.

Great Game

Posted by: from Bend, OR on 09/19/2010I like DARKSIDERS alot. I think it is even better than DANTE'S INFERNO, which is a great game. A really dark game with a good story and heavy action. It is a really long game, which is a good value. The action is intense and very involving. I liked the ending and look forward to the next game in the series, which they are working on now. You cant beat it for $40, so just go out and get it and enjoy !!!

OH Heck YEAH!!!

Posted by: from Houston, Tx on 03/25/2010This game opened up my library from just having FPS. I downloaded the demo on a whim and I am glad I did. The voice sync with characters is awesome. The action and fight scenes are top notch. I have played it for 20hrs and still haven't finshed the game. The only issue I have is that when climbing up using the webbing and you need to traverse to the other side, sometimes it's glitchy, other than that, this game is a must have. BUY THIS GAME!

Posted by: from wyoming, MI on 01/24/2010although this game is far away from the greatness of god of war, its a great game with a fun story and amazing graphics. if you enjoyed GOW you will find this game a good waste of 60 dollars, and get a kick out of the fighting.

Overall Great Game, with Replay Value...

Posted by: from Beaumont,MS on 01/23/2010Its a Great Game overall, (who cares if its a God of War spinoff, I played them all, Darksiders still a great game - you HaTerZ) its hack and slash, and just when your tired of that you get to put your mind to the test with worldly puzzles, and also the aspect of trying to collect all the abyssmal armor along with trying to collect the items to give you max health and wrath. Storyline is pretty well thought out, good enough to keep you interested for sure. You continuosly gain new equipment throughout the entire game so gameplay is always changing. Only thing that disappointed me and only by a little bit was the length and having to backtrack places you've already been (which for some things you have absolutely no choice). I collected the abyssmal armor, 1 notch from max wrath and health bars, beat the game, all about 90-95% of achievements in roughly 15-17hrs of play. Although this game is just a setup for the sequel which I will be waiting for. Buy it. P.S. Dont use strategy guides page by page playthrough it ruins these type of games. If you just absolutely have to buy one, save it for only if you really need it. You can always go back and get something you missed at any point n the game.

End Of Days

Posted by: from Game World on 01/21/2010In Darksiders you play as War one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse to figure out what happened and clear his name. The game borrows a lot of ideas from other games like God Of War's combat and puzzle solving. The voice acting is ok with Mark Hamill playing as"The Watcher",but he makes him sound like "The Joker" from Batman Arkham Asylum which was a bit weird. The combat is too bland it's not really bad,but it just doesn't do anything new you haven't seen in other games.Weapon options in the game are limited, and theirs really nothing good about gaining upgrades.Lock on targeting to an enemy and dashing is pretty clunky.Finishing moves on enemies is very repetitive.Puzzle solving is very easy in the game which is too much of a time waster. The cut scenes are good, but the graphics lack. The environments you play in fall short of a world driven Apocalypse. The game lacks originality. If you like button mashing, hack and slash mediocre games give it a try.But for others wait for a better game.

RENT DO NOT BUY!!

Posted by: from Anchorage, AK on 01/17/2010Bought the game thinking its going to be great boy was I wrong. Storyline was good but all you basically do is solve puzzles that seem to take away from the game play. The puzzles seem endless and the bosses are surprisingly extremely easy to beat. Even though the voice acting and the graphics are great still can't save this game. After beating it I thought maybe the second time around was going to be better but it seems the replayability suffers quite a bit. It would have been nice if they could have integrated the other three horsemen as unlockable characters to play and had more variety of weapons. If you're interested in this game I highly recommend renting or borrowing it from a friend first.

Just Wait

Posted by: from Lansing on 11/10/2009You play as one of the four horsemen in a post rapture setting of the modern world. Your character made the mistake of starting the rapture too early and now your stuck on earth killing the creatures of hell. Closest thing I can relate this to is the god of war series, If you enjoyed that heres the game for you.
