Synopsis

Living with the constant fear of the plague may now seem like a pleasant memory to Isaac Clarke compared to his current reality — fear compounded by the ceaseless terror of the frozen planet Tau Volantis. Teaming up with merciless soldier John Carver may be his only chance of surviving the dangerous planet and the even deadlier evolved enemies that await him there. Stranded on this barren world, he must face an unending stream of lethal enemies, horrifying avalanches, treacherous ice climbs and the brutal elements of the violent wilderness in order to solve the mysteries of the past and find the solution to the Necromorph plague — a solution that is mankind's last hope.

Plunge into the frozen world of Dead Space 3 as Isaac Clarke, and use your courage, intelligence and skill to navigate the challenges that lurk around every corner. Explore underworld cities, engage in side missions and put Isaac's engineering skills to the ultimate test in order to build the weapons needed to survive. The weight of human survival rests on your shoulders, but you can enlist the help of your friends with the game's new drop-in and drop-out co-op gameplay. On the terrifying planet of Tau Volantis, you may need all the help you can get.

Features

  • Explore Tau Volantis' extreme terrain with the insulated Witness Suit and protect yourself against lengthy space exposure with the thick armor of the First Contact Suit
  • Decimate your enemies with the Evangelizer Weapon, which sports a deadly combination of a heavy-duty assault rifle and a shotgun, and unleash your fury with the Negotiator Weapon that features a Tesla-powered instrument for organic tissue dismemberment
  • Defeat the terror of the Necromorph plague in the deadly terrain of the frozen planet Tau Volantis by going it alone as Isaac Clarke or teaming up with merciless soldier John Carver
  • Uncover mysteries of the past and embark on a thrilling expedition to save mankind by discovering the source of the Necromorph terror while you scavenge the harsh environment for parts and raw materials
  • Play the full campaign in single-player or online co-op mode with the new seamless drop-in, drop-out co-op functionality
  • Experience the terror of the ice planet's harsh terrain as you build devastating weapons for survival and struggle to survive avalanches, treacherous ice climbs and the unforgiving wilderness
  • Discover underworld cities to engage in exciting side missions and explore the frozen terrain in search of abandoned encampments
  • Construct your own weapons from gathered parts, and constantly combine, reconfigure or upgrade your favorite items to design deadly creations to aid you on your adventure
  • For 1 player offline; for 1 to 2 players online

Dead Space 3 - Xbox 360 (16 out of 17)
Dead Space 3 is the best of the whole series

Posted by: from Athens, ga on 05/03/2013I didn't understand the new resources system but now I don't know how I played without it. This game is well worth the money. It's gameplay is amazing and the guys at Visceral have done it again. Buy it or die!

Solo Thriller, Fun Co-Op

Posted by: from oh on 05/02/2013The game has fantastic art direction, and the realization of it in game is amazing. The monsters are diverse and the locations varied. Playing alone in the dark is best, the tension is frequent but paced well. Some of the difficulty and intensity is scarified when playing cooperative. The crafting system is interesting, allowing weapons to be created, customized and shared.

a good game, but NOT a Dead Space game

Posted by: from washington, dc on 04/25/2013Dead Space IS about strategic dismemberment, DS3 is not. too much focus on weapon building.

To much action, not enough scares

Posted by: from New Jersey on 04/23/2013Dead Space 1 and 2 are great games. They are tense, have some great scare moments, and provide a great atmosphere. Dead Space 3 on the other hand, doesn't do any of these things. The game is more action oriented and the addition of co-op takes away from the tense feeling of the other two. If you are all about action and shooting games you make like the game more than idea. I just expected more from what was a great franchise.

Epic Game

Posted by: from Seattle on 04/12/2013EA did a great job with this game. Not so much about cutting off limbs as the first two games. Using the new weapons crafting feature, you can be inventive as you want when dealing with Necromorphs. Projectiles, Plasma, Fire, Force and energy. The weapons have a narrow firing field unless you are using the line gun. Can't really take Necromorphs apart like in the first two games. Only complaint is there is a slow transition between using your primary and secondary weapon as well as firing the stasis. Overall experience was great.

Sad Farewell

Posted by: from Grand Rapids MI on 04/03/2013I'm a huge fan of the Dead Space, although a fitting end to the series, the story line is a bit of a double take. No spoilers here, but several times it seemed like a stretch. All in all I love what they did, great gameplay, characters at times have a couple of "not what I would think he would do moments" The developers close the Dead Space universe neatly, leaving a few places to pick up later. Not as good as I expected, but still an A game.

Posted by: from Gilbert, AZ on 03/15/2013Excellent follow up. Building weapons is phenemonal. Dual play as two different characters was an added bonus. The game lasts a good long while - you actually feel like you got your money's worth. Over all - STELLAR!
