Not knowing how much sound systems cost, we took the salesman's word that this was a very good value for the money. We like the look of it because the components are small and sleek. The two speakers on the wall that face the tv are unobtrusive and not that visible, which is a good thing. It just seems, though, that the sound quality could be a little better.1 out of 2 found this review helpful.

Great beginning receiver for a home theater system5

I went to local Best Buy with my trusted iPod and connector in tow. My main concern was not about wattage, but good the system sounded musically. Aftter reviewing the Sony, Yamaha, LG and Samsung offerings, the Denon paired with Boston Acoustic 5.1 speakers was aces. The highs were clear and bass had that great thump without excess coloration. I often listen to music at work, so the sound quality was paramount. As for the lack of internet connectivity, that can fixed for $ 99 be purchasing an Apple TV. Problem solved, 1080p and connectivity to my network iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, iTunes Store and all the great internet Apple TV features. Make sure the Apple TV is connected to the Blu-Ray input on the receiver to take advantage of all the sound features of the receiver making your music or movies sound even better. One little rub, the extended Owner's manual is found on a CD and the printed manual is very abbreviated. Also, Purchase the better HDMI cables to take full advantage of the 1080p video bandwidth. The remote is very easy to use. Easily the best sounding system for the price.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I had a Cambridge Soundworks Theater System before this one and have always demanded performance out of my speaker systems. I was very critical of this Denon system after installing it in my livingroom and fortunately for me it has lived up to my expectations. It was very easy to install out of the box and to set-up for the room size. It has plenty of inputs and excellent AM/FM reception. The only problem that I have found with this system is when I stream Netflix movies into my wireless Toshiba TV and forwarding the audio signal on to the Denon receiver.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

I really love this home system, everything on it meets par for the price. Except the epic lows. It is only a 8' sub. On my dubstep it does not hit the bass right. Rap and rock it sounds great. The problems with the bass only happen on 60+ volume out of 100. Otherwise its great on my Xbox. Overall great system. I can always get a 12' inch sub later.1 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I bought this system a week ago and I am very happy with the quality of sound and the options that come with this system. The sound is great and so loud that I have only turned it up to 70 out of 100 and I'm 22. I like loud music. I price is very reasonable for everything this system offers. I also put a 90 dollar 4 year warranty on it and it is still cheaper that other systems that don't sound as good and don't even have a receiver. This Home Theater in a box is a nice package for the price, setup is pretty easy, adjustments are manageable to achieve the sound you want. I'm using this with a 60" Sharp tv and DirecTV and there are moments where getting everything the way you want is challenging, but the sound is what matters and it's quite good.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

Third time is a charm. I have tried 2 other systems before this and have finally found one that has good sound and no vibration in the sub woofer. It seems to be of good quality and has awesome sound. We were able to set it up in around 30 to 45 minutes and the sound out of the box was great.
