    Great Receiver
    5
Posted by: from Moore, OK on 03/23/2013I have had a home theater in a box for a long time and was wanting to upgrade. I did a lot of homework and spoke to the Best Buy associates on many occasions. The receiver was the one they were using as a display and was one of the two brands that the manager suggested were the best. So I bought the receiver along with Klipsch quintet satellites and subwoofer. All I can says is wow, the setup I have now blows my old home theater in box out of the water! So worth the money spent.

    Great Unit
    4
Posted by: from American Canyon, ,Ca on 01/21/2013Replaced my old Denon to get updated HDMI connections. Great unit but not as powerful as the one I replaced. Should have done more homework! Otherwise a really great unit. I use an old Bose 5.1 system. Probably would have scored a five star if I didn't need to crank it to the max.

    Nice basic Home Theater unit
    4
Posted by: from Walnut Creek, CA on 01/21/2013Most other reviewers have covered the intricate functions. My major points are that unit was fairly simple to set up with a home wi-fi and for Airplay to play iTunes. Basic functions such as switching from cable to Bluray or muting are one button touches, and the no-frills remote control is a must for a family operated unit. Picture and sound quality seem to be consistent with the price point.

Posted by: from WA. on 01/20/2013Plenty of power for surround sound. Works flawlessly with logitech 650 Harmony universal remote. Front HDMI plugins are very handy. A great upgrade from my last Denon rec., that didn't have HDMI

    Use for surround sound only
    2
Posted by: from Arizona on 01/20/2013I bought this to replace my 'very' old tuner, but wasn't planning on using it for surround sound. It sets up easily with on-screen instructions (the sound is obnoxious while testing), but if you don't have a surround sound system, there's almost no bass. I own a set of really nice Bose speakers and had no intentions on setting up a subwoofer because they more than do the job. I ended up returning the product, as there was no way to get bass out of my Bose speakers with this tuner.

    Great product for the price

Posted by: from Woodbridge, NJ on 01/19/2013Audyssey set up made it easy and I'm happy with the output. This receiver replaced my old Yamaha rxv series. Made a great difference in my home theater audio experience, airplay is great (I'm using mediabridge for network access). 3d works well. iphone remote is useful, could be better. This is a very good investment. Love it.

Great AVR for a secondary system
    4
Posted by: from OH on 01/19/2013I purchased this AVR as a Black Friday special for use in a secondary AV system in our family room. It has great HDMI connectivity and very good sonic quality. I do wish it had a little more gain but, this could be due to the somewhat non-efficient Phase Technology speakers it is driving. I also find the menu/remote somewhat confusing to navigate. I remain very happy with the unit.

Good sound out of my aging speakers again.
    3
Posted by: from Oakdale, MN on 01/19/2013I tried to buy something with the future in mind and got it. Aging components with RCA plugs are given little shrift as inputs are largely HDMI and there is no way to get decent sound out of a phono. The amp is clean but a bit wimpier than I expected. The strength of this unit is as an AV adjunct, balancing speakers for the room. It did not replace my old Sony as I'd hoped, but I made room for it and expect it will provide the impetus for me to buy new components. I'm warming up to it gradually.

    Great for a second system
    4
Posted by: from Minnesota on 01/19/2013Let me start by saying I personally would not use this for my main system. I am using this in my bedroom. Overkill you might say, but I demand a lot from my equipment. So, for a second system, this unit is pretty ideal really. I found out after I had it pretty much completely set up that it has an on screen guide to take you step by step on install and set up. That was OK for me, because I don't need it, I am very adept at this kind of thing. But it is there for you if needed. There is very little here in the way of extra features, a very basic unit. In this case that is just fine. Very easy to set this up and just start using it. I see this thing on sale often, pick it up on sale and this is a very good value.
