Is a great TV. 480i is alittle blurry. HD is perect.

I picked up this TV on Black Friday. A 55" LCD for $600 sounded like a sweet deal. I was a little skeptical, having not read much about the Dynex brand, but I was willing to give it a shot.
After getting the TV hooked up, I was extremely disappointed. The picture quality was mediocre at best. Whenever there was a lot of on-screen action (movies, sports, etc.) the picture slows down because the on-board processor is not good enough to keep up the pace.
Trying to play XBOX 360 was an absolute joke. The TV has a terrible delay whenever there is input on a game controller, so it is practically impossible to play a game that requires perfect timing (FPS, sports games). This input lag was so severe it rendered many of my games unplayable.
To sum it up, this TV will work if you are only shopping with the intention of being frugal. If you are actually looking for a quality television, you may want to spend a little extra to get something better. I returned the TV and found a better one for a couple hundred dollars more, and couldn't be happier.- Internet Connectable? : No

Good t.v. for the price4

I am pleasantly surprised to get a 55 inch t.v. for this price that works as well as it does. I have only had it since 12-31-11, so I dont know the longevity of the item but so far so good. I would recommend this item for the average person that is not totally tech savy or into exceptional performance or features.- Internet Connectable? : Yes

After a lot of research, and repeated visits to the store to compare picture quality, I am sure I made the right choice! I had my pick narrowed down to 5 different TVs. The only TV that maybe, and I repeat maybe out does this one is the Samsung, and if money is no object then maybe that's the TV for you. I like the fact that I saved $500 -$600. Easy setup.
I write this review for those who are leery about purchasing a store brand. Best bang for the buck!- Internet Connectable? : No

Didn't even work for 2 weeks1

I purchased this tv for $600 on Black Friday. I had it hooked up for less than 2 weeks before it started chirping. It sounded like a bird was stuck inside the TV! Then it started randomly turning off. Luckily Best Buy took it back because it was in the 30 day window from the date of purchase. It took them nearly 30 days to pick it up from the time I called but that is another issue. I wasn't expecting a stellar picture with a Dynex TV but this was pretty bad. Particularly watching netflix on the wii. I didn't have it long enough to really play with the features but I would recommend spending the extra money on a samsung and sacrificing the size. That is what I will be doing now that I have to shop for another tv!- Internet Connectable? : No

Great Product For the Money5

If you are looking for a great Television for the Super Bowl this one is it. I usually do not write reviews for products I buy even if they are extremely good or bad. However this TV has beaten my expectation by a lot. The quality of the image is amazing for a product costing under $650. The sound could be better, but with a good surround sound system this is negated. The only difference between this television and one costing $400-$500 dollars more in my opinion is features and weight. If you are looking for a Television that is just a television this is the one to get you will not be disappointed.- Internet Connectable? : No

I am always a little worried and buying a off brand, but Dynex is quickly developing an excellent reputation. This is our second big screen LCD from Dynex and we have had no issues to date.- Internet Connectable? : No

Been looking for a new TV to replace our 42 Vizio plasma in the living room for a while now. At first my wife and i were leaning toward a Westinghouse 46 LED. We have a Westinghouse 32 LCD and we love it. But my wife suggested that the 46in was too small. She noticed the Dynex 55in LCD and because of the size and price, $649,99. Not being familiar with the Dynex brand, we decided to hold off and do a little research. After reading the reviews, we decided to go ahead and purchase it. We went the spot where we saw them the night before and they were gone. After asking the Sales Associate, he notified us that there was one left in the back. After his return, he informed us that the box had been opened and one of the packing contents had been removed. Because of this, he guaranteed the TV and offered to take $50 off of the sales price. That made me feel a little better about my purchase and was willing to except an average quality for the cheap price we pain. After getting home, connecting it to our Dish receiver, and Blu Ray player, i can not be more please with our purchase. The picture is excellent, just as good as TV's twice its price. It is a basic TV with excellent picture quality and sound quality that is better than expected for the price. I would without a doubt recommend this TV to everyone. Awesome picture and great sound.- Internet Connectable? : No
