I shredded years worth of papers and it took me about 3 hours of continuous use of the shredder. Although it did shut itself down numerous times within those 3 hours of continuous use, this printer was not designed for the abuse I gave it and it still was holding its own. Although it can handle up to 5 sheets, it struggles a little. I use it a least once a day for junk mail and that's it and it hasn't failed me yet. I love the thing and highly recommend it if someone is looking for an inexpensive printer.

Junk, jammed first day

This is one powerful shredder (even better than the one I use every day at work!). I actually put DOUBLE the amount of paper than it suggested just to see how it would do (dumb idea.. I know...), but I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly and easily it chomped away at the thicker-than-suggested stack. Buy this-- you won't be disappointed (and it's super cheap! :) ) !

I can hardly stop shredding--in fact I have shredded way too much. When I run out of things I need to shred I start looking for other stuff. Yesterday I even shredded a couple of dollar bills. I just couldn't stop. Buy one--you'll see what I mean. I LOVE THIS SHREDDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: hobhorse from MO on 02/08/2013Even though it says 5 sheet, don't put 5 sheets in at once. I only put in 2 sheets at a time and it works just fine. I needed something right away that would crosscut shred and this fits the bill. I read previous reviews before I bought so I wasn't expecting a heavy duty shredder. I use this at home so it is perfect for my needs.

Posted by: soloflyer from Vancouver, WA on 01/22/2013For the price, it's not worth it - i had a pile documents to shred and it took me 20 minutes to finish a pile of about 100 pages. It shut off 2 times because it was overheating and it jammed 2 times during the process.
