I wish that the performance on carpet was a little better and that the on/off switch was located on the handle instead of the canister. I didn't think the switch would really be an issue but it does become inconvenient. Overall, it is a great vacuum and I am pleased with my purchase.

    Posted by: from new york on 05/10/2013Overall I love this vaccuum! I have 3 dogs, 2 labs (which means alot of shedding). It picks up the dog hair on both carpet and wood floors without having to change floor pieces. Suction is very good. The only downfall I can see is that the hose is not made from a heavy material (previously I used a Kenmore). It can easily get dented or a hole if left out and stepped on. Unfortunately in my house the vaccuum is a centerpiece because the floors always need to be cleaned with 2 labs. I just make sure to keep it out the way of my teenage son to avoid hose damage.

The Dyson is at least 10 pounds lighter. The design of the Dyson products is definitely superior to the competition. So far, all our Dyson vacuums have been very reliable. If they were prices more competitively with the competition, they'd be perfect.

    Light weight and great suction

    Posted by: from Georgia on 04/17/2013I have used my new Dyson Vacuum cleaner a couple of times and really like it. It is easy to manage and light to carry up and down the stairs. I really like the carpet stairs attachment. But I would like to have a brush attachment for the tile and wood floors. The suction on carpets is really good and picks up everything quickly. I had a little trouble putting the lint cylinder back in place after dumping it and had to study the instructions. Hopefully, the next time it will be easier. It does not fill up as quickly for me as some other reviewers have mentioned. My favorite things are: great suction, light weight but heavy-duty, easy to roll around, extra long cord. My least favorite things are: lack of tile and hardwood floors brush attachment, getting used to putting it together.

    Posted by: from Alabama on 04/05/2013I finally purchased the much hyped Dyson Animal, canister. I love the canister and compact design. The small head is ok. It works great on stairs. I don't think any vacuum manufacturer has more than one dog. While the "animal" picks up dog hair just fine, as does my old vacuum, it doesn't pick up the stuffing from de gutted stuffed toys, or anything else with minimal substanc, very easy at all. Also, I would prefer the trash reservoir was a little larger, but at least it's bagless. Overall, a fairly nice vacuum. I would not be happy if I had not had my rewards to use, which cut the price. Dyson is rather overpriced for what you get. It would be nice if vacuum manufacturers owned more than one dog and/or cat that actually lived in the house.
