We bought this sight unseen as well and are so sorry we did. As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to open the door then pull out the drawer, close the drawer and close the door again. Not that big of a deal but for the money spent, I would expect either a step open or by pulling the door having the whole drawer open with it. Another HUGE inconvenience is that you can't just use any kind of trash compactor bags, due to the spacious size, you HAVE to use theirs. That in itself is annoying...I have to call Electrolux to place an order for their bags which are $19.95/Dozen. There are other appliance companies found online that also sell them but the fact remains, you still need to use only THEIR bags which I have not found on the shelves in common stores including Best Buy.
This trash compactor looks very sleek and classy. The power is great, it really compresses the trash awesome. The full bags are easy to remove and replace. There are wheels that hold the bags into place which works great with eliminating any slippage. The 'Delay Start' is a nice feature as well. However, the design flaws of this unit really takes away from anything positive it has to offer.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I love it it's sleek stylish and matches my fridge, I like that the bin is about double than other makes. And it has programable panel to compact trash at a specific time or just hit the button. And has a storage area built in it for extra bags yeah Electrolux4 out of 4 found this review helpful.

I ordered this sight unseen because I wanted to replace my 30 yr old compactor with a high quality quite compactor. The store did not have any compactors in stock. This compactor was rated as 4 stars in all the reviews I read. The reviews did not say now inconvenient it is to use. From the picture I thought it was a pull out drawer, it is not. you open a door, manually pull out a drawer, manually push it back in and close the door. My previous compactor you pushed the foot peddle, the drawer popped open; simple and fast.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Bought this sight unseen, trusted Electrolux name, thought it would be well-engineered. Wrong. You have to open the door then pull the bag drawer out, tough to do with garbage in your hands. Whirlpool's hands-free foot pedal is a better idea. And bags are about $2 each if you can find them. Wish we had seen it in the store but they didn't have any to see.6 out of 6 found this review helpful.
