Bring your laptop, iPod or mobile phone purchased at any Best Buy to the Best Buy store nearest you and get a Best Buy gift card instantly (or have a check for a lesser value mailed to you.)
Most Georgia stores do not require that your laptop, mobile phone or iPod has been purchased at Best Buy.
Eligibility for In-store Trade-in:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must have a valid Best Buy Receipt; or if you don't have one, we'll make every effort to locate it for you. Only the original purchaser is eligible to participate in the In-store Trade-in program.
- A government-issued photo ID is required.
This program is for select gently used electronics from the list below. You will get a Best Buy gift card good toward any purchase at Best Buy.
Products eligible for the In-Store Trade-in program:
- Apple iPods
- Apple Laptops
- Mobile Phones
- PC Laptops
For products not listed above, please use the Online Trade-in program which requires you to mail in your products.
3 simple steps
Step 1. Go to www.bestbuy.com/tradeinestimator and use the Estimator to receive an estimate of what your item may be worth. If your products have no value, please bring them to your local Best Buy store for recycling.
Step 2. If the value is acceptable to you, print out the estimate page and bring it along with your product to your local Best Buy store. Also, don't forget to bring the right accessories (power cords, adaptors, instruction manuals, etc.) to maximize your trade-in value.
Step 3. Go to the Geek Squad® Precinct counter where we will verify your item's condition, verify your receipt or, if you don't have the receipt we will make every effort to locate it for you. A final value will be determined and a gift card issued right there. You can also request payment by check (for a lesser value) which will be mailed within 7 days.
Use the Online Trade-In program if you:
- Choose not to use the In-store Trade-in program.
- Purchased your item at another store.
- Can't recover your receipt.
- Have items not covered in the In-store Trade-in program.

4 simple steps:

Step 2. If the value is acceptable to you, select Add to Trade-In Cart.
Step 3. Complete the transaction by printing a prepaid mailing label and mail your item to our Trade-In Center. Also, don't forget to send the right accessories (power cords, adaptors, instruction manuals, etc.) to maximize your trade-in value.
Step 4. A Best Buy gift card or check will be mailed to you approximately 14 days after receipt of your item.
