Excellent sound bar5

We replaced a 5 year old 2-speaker+woofer system with this sound bar system. We have a room set up that doesn't permit 4 wired speakers for surround sound, so I was looking for a front speaker system but I didn't want to give up too much sound quality. I did a lot of research before buying this unit. I am very happy with the sound quality, which is much better than what we experienced with the old system. I have partial hearing loss and found with my old system that I sometimes could not understand some of the words being spoken on programs. The sound quality is much better with this system so I don't have nearly the issues "hearing" as I used to. I am very happy about that. The set up was super easy. I was able to program our cable tv remote to control the audio very simply, using the instructions provided with the unit. I guess the only thing that could be better would be an additional optical input to allow an additional component to be plugged into it. I0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

The sound is clean. The simulated 3D surround sound is pretty good. The volume boost blows away most tv speakers.
The best thing about this sound bar is how they did the wireless portion. Many "wireless" sound bars require the source to be plugged into the subwoofer, and the sound bar is linked wirelessly. This is backwards. Subwoofers can be placed anywhere because the human ear has a harder time distinguishing direction of low tones, whereas the higher pitches given off by the sound bar should be centered near the source, such as a tv. The Energy Power Bar Elite did this correctly be requiring the plug in to the sound bar and wirelessly sending the bass to the subwoofer. My only real complaint is the lack of a 3.5mm TRS (stereo) jack for input from a mp3 player or similar, but a stereo to RCA adapter easily fixes this.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Great Sound, can hook up to Ipod (w/cord), mini remote.
The subwoofer is too big and the cord to the subwoofer is too short which means you can't place it in an out of the way location. Would be nice if the subwoofer was wireless or had a cord about 3x longer.
The remote is tiny and there is only one remote with no information on how to obtain another remote. Sadly, tiny black remotes are way too easy to misplace. We just got the unit and the sound is wonderful, but I'm already trying to find out how to get another remote because you have to have the remote to use the soundbar system and I know that anything that tiny will either (1) be misplaced: couch cushions, magazine pile, bookmark....... (2) end up in the laundry just like previous cell phones, and gaming devices, or (3) die and then we will not be able to use the rest of the system.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

We recently moved and found that our previous surround sound system was not going to work in the new arrangement. We shopped other home theater systems and found a lot of good options but the cost of installation was not within our budget. After listening to several sound bars at the store, the Best Buy associate suggested this particular one. Sound quality is exceptional and the unit has a "surround sound" button that really delivers. I bought another sound bar on black friday, but i didn't like it at all. so i go back about to return it and see if there was something i liked better. Best Buy recommended this sound bar and i liked it a lot. it was kind of annoying that i found out on Black Friday it was only $300 because when i bout my other one everyone was to busy to help me out. i would of bought it then, but oh well. overall i love it0 out of 2 found this review helpful.

This soundbar is great, for me sound is way more important then picture in a theater setting. Energy has great quality speakers at affordable prices. I would rather a 5 or 7.1 system but since I have a small room a soundbar was a better choice. This soundbar has great sound for blue-ray movies and is extremely powerful, its overkill for my area but I'm ok with that. If you are looking for audio to have in your living room and don't want wires everywhere and don't want to spend over a grand, then go with this soundbar. It's good for small or very large rooms, and will not be a disappointment.1 out of 2 found this review helpful.
