    The color is great!

Posted by: from El Cajon, CA on 05/18/2013I'm operating Mac OS 4, and most printers now require 10.5. I was worried that I'd have to replace a perfectly good computer. I don't need a fax, copier or scanner. The Artisan 50 was exactly what I needed, and it will operate 10.3 and above. The printer does a great job. Haven't determined as yet how fast it sucks up ink. Actually the photos of my art work and family are so good I don't care.

    Great for DVD printing

Posted by: from Williamsville, NY on 11/30/2012I primarily bought this printer to print pictures on DVD's. It does this perfectly. Photo and document printing works well too. The only thing I didn't like is that it didnt come with the printer cable and it is not wireless so I have to connect my pc to it. Plus, this was the only DVD printer around at a great price.

Good for its prime purpose - printing disc labels

Posted by: from Medford, Oregon on 08/23/2012I purchased this printer to replace my Epson Stylus Photo R320 which quit working after a bit over 2 years of heavy use. My primary use of my Epson printers is to print disc labels on DVD and CD inkjet printable discs and considering the fact that no other company produces a comparable product at such a reasonable price, I will likely continue to purchase and use Epson printers in the future. My only real complaint regarding this printer is that while I'd like to use Epson OEM ink cartridges, they are priced too high to be a viable option. Considering the number of cartridges I use each year, it's cheaper to use reloaded cartridges and replace the printer when it dies than to pay up to three times as much for Epson cartridges. As an example, purchasing approximately 15 reloaded cartridges saves me enough over the price of Epson cartridges (about $130) to pay for another new printer!! Other than this problem, I give Epson printers a very high rating, including my new Artisan 50 printer.

Posted by: from New Orleans on 07/26/2012I work offshore in the oilfield down here in the Gulf of Mexico. I have no set schedule and work on call 24/7, so portability is super important. The unit is nicely compact (even though I do wish it was smaller). I was going to buy the Dymo Disk Painter for $300.00 but it has been discontinued and no one else makes a disk painter of similar size and/or cost. I saw the Epson Artisan at work by another contractor and was extremely impressed. I ordered one before I even came back to land. As an Energy Consultant (my own business) I am constantly looking for an extra edge that separates me from the other consultants. The professional imagery I can put onto the DVD's is that edge. Why settle for someone just using a magic marker. And the other thing...my covers look better from the field than do the data recording companies finalized reports with their DVD covers; and for under $150 bucks. Now if you guys ever make a stand alone CD/DVD disk painter (for a good price) then you call me immediately, because I am buying the first two. (one for the home office and one for the field.) I love this unit.

    Wonderful Printer

Posted by: from Rochester Hills, MI on 06/23/2012I had 6 R220 printers because the output quality is fantastic and ink cheap. I finally couldn't find any more 200 or 220s so I did a search for a replacement. I was not disappointed. The Artisan 50 is just as cheap to run, just as good quality and TWICE the speed. What's not to love? Pastorrob

    Great Color Printer
    5
Posted by: from Glendale, AZ on 04/02/2012I have been using this printer for around a month now. It has great color and photos look amazing. I have also used it for documents. They are good too. It is very fast compared to my old HP all-in-one. I like that this printer isn't so bulky. Some of the other printers were just huge. I have a black/white laser printer for most of my work stuff and I only use this one when I need color. It is saving me lots of dollars in ink.
