Many of the the scanned images are more clear than the photos. Very happy with the quality, ease of use and the various options for improving the scanned image. Although I used mostly the autoscan and it did a fantastic job. This scanner can scan multiple photos simultaneously and store them as separate images. The Adobe photoshop software has many nice features and is also easy to use. Overall impressed and pleased with my choice of this scanner.

Very good specialized photo scanner

A little research told me that this one was the most-feature rich and easiest to use for the money. My experience with it so far is exactly that. The scanner glass is large, so it can accommodate enlargements. The scanner includes special trays for scanning slides and various sizes of negatives. The software is integrated into the scanner and seamlessly detects the type of image that is being scanned and adapts to it -- negatives are rendered as positives, images are sized to the original, etc. The unit also includes an installation CD for Photoshop Elements (a valuable add-on!) and features for retouching blemishes on the original. All around, a very feature-rich and easy-to-operate machine.

The scan quality is very impressive, and it is quite a bit faster than my older scanner, but still takes a couple of minutes to complete a scan.

Slow going

will only do 4 at a time. Being 66 years of age I figure the Epson will wear out or I will expire before I am finished.
