Easy setup, good picture and wireless is key

Posted by: from on 01/29/2013Overall this is a very good projector for its price. The advanced wireless function works perfect and doesnt tie up your wireless card like others have mentioned. If you use point to point aka easy setup it will tie up your wireless card but if you are using wireless just use the advance function and connect to your access point and you can still use the internet while connected to the project. speaker works for what it is, dont plan on using these speakers if at home for theater sound or with a large audience. In a small room or at office it is loud enough. overall for the price this is a very good projector and easy to use. Great for the office and probably a small room at home but wouldnt trade it for my epson (Powerlite home cinema 8350) that I have at my house.

Posted by: from Colorado on 11/09/2012Easy setup. Excellent quality picture. As bulky as most projectors. Fan moves a lot of air, so it's a little noisy. Very good for the price.

This is a great projector for the price

Posted by: from Boston, MA on 08/19/2012First off, I think the other guy that rated this projector doesn't know electronics very well. First off, if you read the quick start guide, it says to install the software and put the included wireless adapter into the projector. There is an arrow on the projector and it says WIFI. Can't get much easier than that. Second, you really expect the projector to have an audio out? It is 3lbs! It is not going to come with a sub and surround sound. It has a speaker if you would like to use the speaker it comes with. I agree it is not the greatest. As for not having an audio out... why would you want an audio out? Instead of degrading the quality by plugging your source (Cable, Laptop, etc# into the projector, then have speakers that plug into the projector, why wouldn't you just plug the speakers into the source? I have 5 TVs in my house and not one of them has sound coming out of them, nor do I route the sound through the tv and back out to the speakers. It doesn't make sense. Last thing he said was the screen quality. There is not a projector out there #commercially available# that can match the retina display, nore is there a TV #maybe 1 or 2, but again, not commercially available). The retina display is 2880×1800, 1080P is only 1920x1080, so there is a loss no matter what, 720P is 1280x720. What does that even mean? Well it depends how large you have the screen set up. The main things that will affect whether you can see a difference between a 720p and a 1080p HDTV is the size of the screen and the viewing distance, i.e. the distance you sit at when watching the screen. For example, the only way human eyes can discern a difference between a 720p and 1080p 42" screen is if you sit closer than 5 feet from the projection. If you sit farther than 5 feet back, then it is physically impossible for almost all people to see a difference. The distance changes with the size of the screen. For example, for a 50" screen, the viewing distance where you could begin to tell the difference moves back to about 6.5 feet. The general rule of thumb is that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between a 720p and a 1080p screen at closer than 1.5 times the diagonal screen size. So, all of that said, this guy returned a perfectly good projector because it was missing some buzz words and it didn't have unnecessary outlets. Now, that being said there are a couple of things that bothered me about this projector. 1st off is the wireless. When you are connected wirelessly, it uses your computers wireless connection. This means you have to be hard wired or have a second wireless adapter on your computer in order to use the internet. The workaround is to connect with the included VGA cable, but it kind of defeats the purpose. But it is good for presentations. The other thing I didn't like was that it doesn't have the auto-correction for the keystone. They have it on the next model up, but that one is really bright and it hurts my eyes when watching a movie in a dark room for too long. Other than that it is a great projector and best buy has it cheaper than anywhere else, even amazon.

nice attempt, but does not deliver
    2
Posted by: from Boston, MA on 07/22/2012I brought this home and was amazed to learn that the tiny one-watt speaker is the only audio available on this projector, there's no other way to deliver audio on it, no external outputs and no other way of routing sound to another source. This means this projector can only be used in non-audio situations such as Powerpoint presentations and the like. Also, the wireless setup is terribly documented and difficult to configure. I consider myself advanced in terms of technology, and getting the wireless to work correctly was a total hassle to figure out with the poor instructions. Finally, the projector is 750p, not 1080p, which means the quality is limited with higher end computers like the new MacBook Pros with Retina Displays. I really wanted to like this projector, but while creating a compact projector with a good quality display, Epson screwed up bad with the audio and wireless setup. Needless to say, I returned it after noticing these limitations.
