Garbage, Spend a Little Extra And Get Quality1

I've owned 3 of these. No more.
As soon as colder winter weather shows up it will constantly fall off the windshield and trigger your shock sensor of your car alarm, or a a minimum it will be dangling by the wire when it falls. Once the hot summer weather comes the suction cup will get very soft, again to the point of not sticking to the glass over time. It the quality or lack thereof the rubber suction cup material. It will fail, typically as I stated, you will get one season of weather change out of it before the suction cup is distorted and will no longer create a tight seal against the glass. Nothing but frustration. Surf the net, you'll find better product for the same or a little more money. Some you will see with a large clear suction cup that sticks like glue and doesn't come off winter, summer or fall. Save your money, hide your children, hide your wife.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

It's ok... except when it's COLD.2

I bought this to replace the standard windshield mount that came on my X50.
It works very well EXCEPT in cold weather.
The suction cup absolutely refuses to stick to the windshield when it is cold. But in any instance where I do get it to stick when it's cold, it usually falls off my windshield. This has happened quite a few times and I'm paranoid that the next time it falls, it will ruin my $300+ investment.0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

By far the best add-on for any Escort radar detector. Every other suction cup mount seems to wear out, but not this one!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

much better than the included mount, but...4

I used the included suction mount with my 8500 X50 for a short time, and could see that it would not hold up well over time. I got this mount on a deal, and loved it. It had a strong and stable hold for the better part of the last 5 or 6 months. I did notice once or twice that the suction would get loose, but it was easy to reset. Now, after 6 months, it will not keep a tight hold because the suction cup has started to break off from the post. However, the suction cup is still keeping the detector secured to the windshield, even though it is sagging quite a bit. I will be replacing it, but I expected it to hold up for longer than it has.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Falls off in cold weather2

This mount works great as long as the weather is warm, however...if you live in a cold climate unhook the detector from the mount when not in use or it will be on the floor. I have complained to Escort about this problem and they acknowledged they were faulty and sent me a replacement, but it still falls off. Maybe glue the mount to the windshield with rear view mirror adhesive (just kidding) Google this mount and read all of the complaints! Once the interior of the car is warm it is fine, and yes my windshield is clean.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Toss the old 3 suction cup mount.5

This should come with the RD in the first place. If you're tired if trying to reattach the original mount to the glass only to have it fall right back down, you want this.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

The Supercup is Rock Solid5

I use Escort's supercup with my 9500IX. This thing rocks. It does not move when properly placed on the windshield correctly. I love it. It is leaps and bounds better than provided suction cups. Its easy to put on and take off. Once you put it on, it will stay on. It allows the radar detector to have minimal bounce but mostly the detector is still and stable. You do not have to worry about your detector falling from the windshield at random while you are driving. I did have my supercup fall of the windshiled after my car sat in the hot sun for months without me driving it. I think it was the sun that caused it to fall. I haven't had that problem since I have been driving my car on a regular basis. I just cleaned the supercup and my windshield with rubbing alcohol and I was back in buisness. I would recommend this item to anybody at the time of purchase of any Escort radar system.4 out of 4 found this review helpful.

A necessity4

Much easier to use then the suction cups that come with the radar. I left mine stuck to the windhield all the time during hot weather and the internal plastic softened, then cracked and broke.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.
