Frasier: Don't Go Breaking My Heart
In the concluding episode of a three-part story, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) has successfully undergone heart bypass surgery -- but that doesn't keep him from being nervous about resuming his normal activities. As for everyone else, they are growing dog-weary of hearing Niles' stories of his "near-death experience." Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) in particular would love to tell Niles to shut up, but he has promised God that he'd be nice to his brother if he pulled through, and God is not someone who takes promises lightly. But there's a limit to Frasier's patience, and that limit comes when Niles takes over his brother's radio show to share his epiphany with everyone in Seattle! ~ Rovi
Frasier: Bristle While You Work
In the first episode of a three-part story, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) becomes convinced that his toothache is merely a "referred pain," and that he may actually have a heart condition. Well, maybe he didn't have one at the beginning of the episode, but he sure has one by fade-out time -- and it may all be the result of his own feverish imagination. Elsewhere, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) has a bad feeing about the "terrific" new caregiver (Ana Gasteyer) hired by Martin (John Mahoney). ~ Rovi
Frasier: We Two Kings
Accustomed to hosting his family's Christmas dinner, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) objects to breaking tradition by having the festivities at the home of Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves). The ensuing quarrel prompts an angry Martin (John Mahoney) to bypass the dinner altogether and sign up for work on Christmas Eve. Suddenly contrite, Frasier and Niles do everything in their power to get their dad to change his mind. Elsewhere, Roz (Peri Gilpin) takes a liking to a personable department store Santa (Dean Cain). ~ Rovi
Frasier: Kissing Cousin
Zooey Deschanel guest stars as Roz's wild, impulsive, and highly opinionated cousin Jen. The girl's aggressive personality drives Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) up a wall and leaves Roz (Peri Gilpin) exhausted trying to keep up with her cousin's round-the-clock partying. About the only person who truly hits it off with Jen is KACL station manager Kenny Daly (Tom McGowan), who feels he needs her sort of excitement in his life -- maybe permanently. Elsewhere, Martin (John Mahoney) tries to snooker Daphne (Jane Leeves) into continuing to tend his needs. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Enemy at the Gate
The scene is a parking garage, where a defiant Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) takes a stand -- and blocks traffic -- when he feels he's being unjustly charged for a full 20 minutes' parking when he only owes for a few minutes. Refusing to allow anyone to pay the fee for him, Frasier transforms an insignificant molehill into an impassable mountain, much to the dismay of his passenger Niles (David Hyde Pierce). Meanwhile, Roz (Peri Gilpin) makes an unexpected public confession when she subs for Frasier on his radio show. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Star Mitzvah
Hoping to master Hebrew so that he can give a speech at his son's bar mitzvah, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) turns to nerdy Noel (Patrick Kerr) for help. Noel agrees to coach Frasier, but in return Frasier must obtain a valuable autograph at a sci-fi convention. Alas, things go very wrong, whereupon Noel cooks up a rather embarrassing revenge. Meanwhile, Frasier's ex-wife Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) displays a side of her personality that no one has ever seen before -- and few ever want to see again. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Rooms with a View
In the second episode of a three-part story, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) seems uncharacteristically calm as he prepares to undergo heart bypass surgery. Martin (John Mahoney) is not calm but pretends to be, while Daphne (Jane Leeves) cannot hide her anxiety. As the story progresses, a heavily sedated Niles suddenly begins reciting the story of his life, in minute and excruciating detail -- while helpful older brother Frasier bids fair to drive the attending physician crazy. This episode won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Tales From the Crypt
Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) has just about had enough of the practical jokes perpetrated by radio sports guy "Bulldog" Briscoe (Dan Butler). Clearly what is called for is a get-even scheme so elaborate and complicated that Frasier has to bring in "outside help." And on the subject of revenge, Daphne's mother, Gertrude (Millicent Martin), is determined to settle accounts with the youthful trick-or-treater who has "vandalized" Niles' door. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Proxy Prexy
Realizing that he has made too many enemies to win the presidency of the condo board, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) contrives to have the more popular Martin (John Mahoney) run against him. The strategy is to get Martin elected so that Frasier can be the real power behind the throne -- but Frasier has forgotten that his dad can be just as contrary and intractable as he is. Meanwhile, Daphne (Jane Leeves) takes the first steps to becoming a U.S. citizen, and Roz (Peri Gilpin) misinterprets a "sexual signal." ~ Rovi
Frasier: The Ring Cycle
Season ten of Frasier gets under way not long after Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) have eloped to Reno. Feeling guilty over leaving Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Martin (John Mahoney) out of their wedding plans, the couple pretends to still be unhitched so that a more formal ceremony can take place in Seattle. What they hadn't counted on was the persistence of Daphne's mom, Gertrude (Millicent Martin), who demands a third ceremony at a place of her choosing; nor are they prepared for the return of Daphne's jilted ex-fiancé, Donny Douglas (Saul Rubinek). ~ Rovi
Frasier: Roe to Perdition
Hoping to save a few bucks while planning a party, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Niles (David Hyde Pierce) are persuaded to buy some "black market" caviar. The stuff goes over so well with the guests that the brothers seek out their "contact" for more caviar, only to find out the supply has dried up and the Feds have clamped down on all illicit fish-egg trade. This is bad news for Roz (Peri Gilpin), who has become a hopeless caviar addict and can't go "cold turkey" -- or even "cold roe." Meanwhile, Martin (John Mahoney) tries to return an overdraw from an ATM and is nearly arrested for his troubles. ~ Rovi
Frasier: The Devil and Dr. Phil
TV talker "Dr. Phil" McGraw makes his acting debut in this episode. Though mad at Dr. Phil because of an outstanding poker debt, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) agrees to take Roz (Peri Gilpin) to the good doctor's lecture. Upon arrival, Frasier is shocked to discover that Dr. Phil's agent is the redoubtable Bebe Glazer (Harriet Sansom Harris). Frasier is also peeved that Bebe had never been able to make him a huge star in all the time she was representing him. So imagine his surprise when Bebe offers to do for Frasier what she's done for Dr. Phil -- in exchange for certain, er, favors. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Analyzed Kiss
Julia (Felicity Huffman) breaks up with Avery when it becomes obvious he won't divorce his wife -- and when she also realizes he has been appropriating her ideas for his software company. Somehow this situation leads to Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) helping Julia burgle Avery's office, whereupon the two are locked in the same closet. Inevitably, Frasier and Julia use this "opportunity" to make love -- with Julia alternately showering Frasier with affection and haranguing him for his shortcomings. Meanwhile, Roz (Peri Gilpin) is offered a new job out of town, and Niles (David Hyde Pierce) makes some new "friends" at a shooting range. ~ Rovi
Frasier: The Harrassed
Felicity Huffman makes her first series appearance as Julia Wilcox, KACL's new financial analyst. The abrasive, condescending Julia rubs everyone the wrong way, but Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) -- who can be pretty abrasive and condescending himself -- believes she's merely insecure. He extends the hand of friendship, only to have the nasty Julia nearly bite it off. Thus spruned, Frasier expresses his outrage to everyone -- which merely confirms their belief that he had a crush on Julia. The situation culminates with threats of a harrassment suit and a remarkable revelation. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Some Assembly Required
Frasier's industrious co-workers insist that he help them build a house for Habitat for Humanity. They soon regret inviting Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) when he proves to be more hindrance than help -- and once the occupants of the house move in, he insists upon smothering them with unsolicited advice. In other developments, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) is forced to sub for Martin, who was slated to give a safety lecture at an elementary school; and Mrs. Moon (Millicent Martin) tries to punish daughter Daphne (Jane Leeves) for an imagined slight by taking a very public job. ~ Rovi
Frasier: A New Position for Roz
Though she has decided to leave Seattle for a better job out of town, Roz (Peri Gilpin) begins having second thoughts about bidding farewell to Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) -- especially since he is drawing ever closer to the mercurial Julia Wilcox (Felicity Huffman). This state of affairs leads to two different showdowns, while a third is in the offing as Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) square off against Daphne's meddlesome mother (Millicent Martin). This was the final episode of Frasier's tenth season. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Door Jam
A misdelivered letter has Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Niles (David Hyde Pierce) obsessing over an exclusive getaway spa. The brothers know the name of the spa but not the location and are determined to find out. This situation culminates in a mad scheme wherein Niles impersonates Frasier's testy neighbor, Cal. Meanwhile, a chance remark by Daphne (Jane Leeves) puts a crimp in Martin's (John Mahoney) leisure activities. Co-star David Hyde Pierce was injured while filming this episode, but you'd never know it. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Farewell, Nervosa
Worried over financial difficulties, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) heads to his favorite hangout, the Café Nervosa, only to have his teeth set on edge by a bizarre folksinger named Ben (Elvis Costello!). Vowing never to return to the café until Ben is fired -- and dragging Niles (David Hyde Pierce) along with him -- Frasier seeks out another out-of-the-way spot he can call his own. In the process he spots his co-worker Julia (Felicity Huffman) in a passionate embrace with his accountant Avery McManus (John Hannah) -- who happens to be married. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Lilith Needs a Favor
Frasier's mercurial ex-wife Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) is back in town, and as usual she wants a favor. This time around, Lilith is determined to have another baby -- and she wants Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) to be the father. Although her plan is to rely upon artificial insemination, Frasier will have none of it, forcing Lilith to use a bit of -- yes -- psychology on her former husband. Meanwhile, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) goes ballistic over a "dirty" photo of Daphne (Jane Leeves). ~ Rovi
Frasier: Fraternal Schwinns
Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) is willing to donate a huge amount of money to KACL's bike-a-thon fundraiser for AIDs research, but he balks at participating in the event. Julia (Felicity Huffman) goads Frasier into riding one of the bikes, while Daphne (Jane Leeves) does the same with Niles (David Hyde Pierce). Only one problem: Neither brother knows one end of a bike from another. Elsewhere, Daphne's mom (Millicent Martin) manages to bollix up the relationship between Martin (John Mahoney) and Cora Winston (Emily Yancy). ~ Rovi
Frasier: Kenny on the Couch
Against his better judgment, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) agrees to offer psychiatric advice to recently divorced radio-station manager Kenny Daly (Tom McGowan). Convinced that all Kenny needs is to get his mind off his troubles, Martin (John Mahoney) takes Kenny out to his favorite watering hole, McGinty's saloon -- whereupon Frasier takes umbrage at his father interfering with his "patient." And jealousy of a different kind rears its head when Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) begin taking yoga classes. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Daphne Does Dinner
Daphne (Jane Leeves) is convinced that Frasier's reception to unveil a painting will be as big a disaster as most of his parties. Thus, she suggests to Niles (David Hyde Pierce) that they hold the festivities at their home. As the evening progresses, Daphne proves (much to her dismay) that she can be just as big a social screw-up as any other member of the Crane family. The only person who manages to avoid the chaos is the guest of honor artist Mike Shaw (Harve Presnell) -- who, like Daphne's mother Gertrude (Millicent Martin), would rather watch a televised boxing match than put up with the artistic elite. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Fathers and Sons
Roz (Peri Gilpin) cannot help but be amazed how much Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) has in common with his late mother's research assistant Leland Barton (David Ogden Stiers). Can it possibly be that Leland and not Martin (John Mahoney) is Frasier's father? Roz investigates and gets some unsettling information from Martin that seems to confirm her suspicions. But as things turn out, Leland has a different surprise for everyone. ~ Rovi
Frasier: Trophy Girlfriend
When Niles (David Hyde Pierce) partners up with someone other than Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) for their club's squash tournament, Frasier teams with Chelsea Gray (Jeanne Tripplehorn), a sexy phys-ed teacher. At the end of the tournament, Martin is delighted that at last one of his sons has won a trophy -- but the other son, Niles, is not. As for Chelsea, Frasier wonders if his lifelong terror of P.E. instructors will ruin his chances at romance. This is the classic episode in which actor Bob Hoskins repeatedly materializes on the shoulders of guest star Jeanne Tripplehorn. ~ Rovi
