Looks great but overpriced for what it is

Posted by: Cekay from NYC on 04/16/2013I've been eyeing these headphones for a while and they are as attractive in person as I had expected. However, even for someone who wasn't necessarily looking for the best in sound quality, the sound quality (or rather the lack thereof) makes these headphones way overpriced. I'd say it's similar to the quality of the standard Apple earphones but considering they are over-ear and $200, the sound should really be better.
While I was willing to overlook the sound quality, the reality is that even for looks alone they aren't really worth it as they scratch very easily. I found a scratch on one side the very first day I wore them even though I was being very cautious. I'm not even sure how the scratch got there and am afraid to see how they'll turn out with prolonged and more frequent use. Also the white silicone around the volume controls gets dirty easily, though it's easy to wipe clean.
In terms of fit, they're pretty comfortable, but it's worth noting that the headband part is not padded like other over-ear headphones. I do like the fabric cord and the portability factor (folds up neatly into the included case). I wouldn't recommend them though until some improvements have been made. I think $100 would have been a more appropriate price for this product.

In the past I have always had Skull Candies and the sound quality on these Frends Headphones is even better. They are super comfortable and fit perfectly over my ears. I would definitely recommend Frends headphones for anyone looking for great quality for a great price.

They aren't noise CANCELLING, but they muffle other sounds very well. These are very light to carry around and perfect for travel- not to mention they can be folded to fit into the free travel bag it comes with! They are great to use on a plane as well! I highly recommend these! They are great little headphones that are like jewelry accents for your ears! :). I am obsessed with them. Worth every penny!

second, I love how these are super cool-looking but not overly big and masculine like all the other good headphones are.
third, and possibly most important, the sound quality is great, and blocks things out enough that you are essentially in your own little world.
big fan of these headphones!!

with these new headphones from frends, i am in love!
the sleek and modern design makes me bring them with me everywhere i go because it goes with my outfits and personality. it is perfect for talking on my cell phone handsfree and radiation free (as i do not want brain cancer!). the sound quality is great and the i adore the little details like the rose gold sound adjuster buttons and tangle free cord! this is a MUST buy for the holidays - i am definitely recommending these to my girlfriends and guyfriends for their girls as a perfect modern girl's gift.
