Friends: The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance
Having been "at liberty" for too long a period, Joey (David Schwimmer) loses his Screen Actors' Guild health insurance -- just as he injures himself during an audition. Ross' (David Schwimmer) opportunity to lecture at NYU proves to be more rewarding than he expected, but strange complications await him vis-à-vis his quickie Vegas marriage to Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). And Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) is given a disturbing peek into the future by her psychic -- whose own future isn't in very good shape either. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Routine
Sexy but mercurial model Janine (Elle MacPherson) invites her roommate, Joey (Matt LeBlanc), to join her for Dick Clark's perennial "Rockin' New Year's Eve" gala -- slated to be taped several weeks before the big ball drops on Times Square. In a related incident, a dream long held by Ross (David Schwimmer) and Monica (Courteney Cox) is about to come true, leading to a state of euphoria that may be hazardous for both of them. This episode ends with one of Friends' obligatory "water cooler conversation" moments. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Ross Got High
As he prepares to entertain Monica's (Courteney Cox) parents at Thanksgiving dinner, Chandler (Matthew Perry) must come to grips with the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Geller (Elliott Gould, Christina Pickles) don't like him very much -- and he doesn't make matters any better with his overeagerness to please. It turns out that the Gellers hold Chandler responsible for Ross' dependence upon marijuana in college...or at least that's what Ross (David Schwimmer) has told them. Meanwhile, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) prepares a Thanksgiving dessert that no one will ever forget, while Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) control-freak roommate, Janine (Elle MacPherson), cooks up a "theme" party like none other on the face of the earth. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One on the Last Night
Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) have an emotional time moving out of their respective apartments. Though Chandler is looking forward to moving in with Monica, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) will be left without a roommate. Similarly, Monica is a bit let down that her former roomie Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) is now living with Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). Somehow or other, this state of affairs also involves Ross (David Schwimmer) and his son, Ben (Cole Sprouse), and a "fixed" game of skill designed to make Joey feel better. ~ All Movie Guide

    Friends: The One After Vegas
Was the fifth-season finale of Friends merely a misleading "teaser," or did Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) really get married during the gang's tumultuous trip to Las Vegas? The answer, provided in the series' season-six opener, is both "no" and "yes": no, it wasn't a tease, and yes, Ross and Rachel are husband and wife (though having been drunk during the ceremony, it takes them a while to become aware of the fact!). Elsewhere on the romantic scene, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry), upon returning to New York, decide to move in together, even though (unlike Ross and Rachel) their planned Vegas wedding never came off. And poor Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is also back in town, his latest "big break" in show business having blown up in his face, obliging him to head back to the Big Apple with feckless Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) at the wheel. The hilarious "hyphenated" closing credits of this episode reflect the recent marriage of Courteney Cox and actor David Arquette. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Ross Hugs Rachel
Only Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) knows that Ross (David Schwimmer) has not annulled his quickie Vegas marriage to Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), even though he claims he has. Meanwhile, Chandler (Matthew Perry) ruffles a few feathers as he prepares to move out of the apartment he shares with Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and move in with Monica. And ere the final fadeout of this episode occurs, one of the characters will realize he is truly in love with one of the other characters. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With Ross's Denial
As they prepare to move in together, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) can't agree over how Rachel's old room should be redecorated, while Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) has trouble finding a new place to live. Meanwhile, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) grills potential new roommates, after posting an advertising stating that only "non-ugly" people need apply. And Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) still has doubts concerning Ross (David Schwimmer) and his feelings about Rachel. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With Joey's Porsche
When Joey (Matt LeBlanc) finds the keys to an expensive Porsche at Central Perk, he thinks it's a good omen -- and as usual, he begins putting the cart before the horse (or in this case, the Porsche) in a ridiculous fashion. In other developments, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) are finagled into babysitting for Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) triplets, a night of terror which ends with Chandler swallowing a toy. And Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) run into a legal snag as they endeavor to annul their quickie Las Vegas marriage. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Phoebe Runs
New living arrangements pose problems for Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Monica (Courteney Cox), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). For starters, new roomies Phoebe and Rachel decide to work out together by running every day, a decision that makes Phoebe feel like a fool. In another development, Joey is fascinated by his sexy new roommate, Janine (Elle MacPherson in her first series appearance), little realizing the trouble she has in store for him. Finally, Chandler bollixes up the simple task of cleaning Monica's apartment, thanks to a faulty memory. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With Ross's Teeth
Joey's attractive but irksome new roommate, Janine (Elle MacPherson), wants Joey (Matt LeBlanc) to get in touch with his "feminine side," resulting in a surprising reaction from Chandler (Matthew Perry). Ross (David Schwimmer) returns to the dating scene by performing a bleaching job -- on his teeth. And when Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) has a fling with one of Rachel's co-workers, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) begins spreading rumors that have a disastrous effect on herself. Designer Ralph Lauren makes a cameo appearance. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Joke
Did you hear the one about the two angry Friends? It goes like this: Chandler (Matthew Perry) claims authorship of the "party joke" that Ross (David Schwimmer) has gotten published in Playboy, leading to a major rift between the pair. Elsewhere, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) don't appreciate Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) casual criticism. And as for Joey (Matt LeBlanc), his recent run of unemployment comes to an end when he applies for a job at Central Park -- an event that "coffee guy" Gunther (James Michael Tyler) may have cause to regret. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Ross Dates a Student
Ross' college lecturing job proves to have fringe benefits when one of his students, a sexy coed named Elizabeth (Alexandra Holden, in her first series appearance) asks to go out with him. Though flattered and certainly interested, Ross (David Schwimmer) worries that the girl is too young for him. Meanwhile, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) are out in the cold, thanks to an apartment fire which started in a most bizarre fashion. And Joey (Matt LeBlanc) tries to get an audition for an Al Pacino movie directed by Chandler's (Matthew Perry) ex-girlfriend. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With Rachel's Sister
In the first episode of a two-part story, Reese Witherspoon guest stars as Jill Green, spoiled-rotten kid sister of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston). Showing up at Rachel's doorstep after her parents have cut off her allowance, Jill expects her sister to help her get her life together. Alas, the old sibling rivalry roars into flame when Jill suddenly becomes very, very interested in Ross (David Schwimmer). Elsewhere, Chandler (Matthew Perry) can't cope with the fact that Monica (Courteney Cox) has both a bad head cold and an enormous yearning for his body, and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) picks the wrong time to be generous. ~ All Movie Guide

    Friends: The One With Unagi
Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) have a date on the anniversary of their relationship, but the event is spoiled by a blast from the past, courtesy of the gone-but-not-forgotten Janice. Meanwhile, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) must find somebody to pose as his "twin" in a medical study, so that he can raise money for some new publicity photos. And Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) take classes in self-defense -- and are given a free demonstration in "Unagi." ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Proposal, Part 2
Friends opens its seventh season with two prime episodes, originally telecast back-to-back. In the premiere episode, Monica (Courteney Cox) is dancing on air after announcing her engagement to Chandler (Matthew Perry). But just as she is planning a champagne party to celebrate the occasion, Monica is taken aback at the spectacle of her brother, Ross (David Schwimmer), in the arms of Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) -- a coupling that was supposed to have been over and done with during the previous season. Convinced that Rachel is trying to "steal her thunder," Monica goes ballistic -- while Chandler begins to wonder if getting married is such a hot idea after all. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Proposal, Part 1
In the first half of Friends' sixth-season finale (originally telecast as a single, one-hour episode), Chandler (Matthew Perry) meticulously stage-manages his planned proposal to Monica (Courteney Cox), choosing just the right time at just the right restaurant to present her with the ring. Alas, things go awry when this very special moment is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Monica's former boyfriend Richard (Tom Selleck), who may have an offer that she can't refuse. Meanwhile, Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) discuss their alternate plans on the off-chance that they never meet the men of their dreams. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Paul's the Man
Ross (David Schwimmer) had hoped to spend the weekend in romantic seclusion with his college-age girlfriend, Elizabeth (Alexandra Holden). Unfortunately for Ross, the couple's cabin hideaway is "invaded" by Elizabeth's father, Paul (Bruce Willis, in the second of three guest appearances). No, Paul has not arrived in the capacity of an outraged parent: he was simply hoping for a little lovemaking himself with his current date, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). Meanwhile, back in the Big Apple, Monica (Courteney Cox) has big plans for Chandler (Matthew Perry) -- so big that she isn't about to let him know what they are. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Ross Meets Elizabeth's Dad
In the first of three Emmy-winning Friends guest appearances, Bruce Willis is cast as Paul, the father of Ross' college-student girlfriend, Elizabeth (Alexandra Holden). Not surprisingly, Paul admonishes Ross (David Schwimmer) for dating a girl that is much younger than himself. Also not surprisingly, given the usual plot twists and reversals seen on this series, Paul neglects to practice what he preaches when he falls for Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). And elsewhere, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is poised to mess up his latest showbiz break, as star of the tacky sci-fi TV show "Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E." ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One Where Chandler Can't Cry
In the conclusion of a two-part story, the gang's celebration of Valentine's Day is complicated by the presence of Rachel's kid sister Jill (Reese Witherspoon), who continues to be fascinated with Ross (David Schwimmer). Out of respect for Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Ross agrees to break off his relationship with Jill -- unaware that the calculating sibling has a frightening capacity for revenge. Elsewhere, Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) discovers that her twin sister, Ursula (also Lisa Kudrow), has become a movie star; unfortunately, they're the sort of films that are watched in dark rooms by old men wearing raincoats. And, per the episode's title, Chandler (Matthew Perry) confesses he hasn't been able to turn on the tears since childhood. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Apothecary Table
Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) has a monkey on her back! No, Marcel hasn't returned; it is simply that Rachel has become hopelessly addicted to purchasing Pottery Barn furniture (her latest acquisition is an apothecary table). Can she hide this horrible secret from Phoebe (Elle MacPherson), who despises all mass-produced products? Meanwhile, it appears as though Janine (Elle MacPherson) is driving a wedge between Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and the rest of the gang. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One That Could Have Been, Part 2
In the conclusion of a two-part story (originally telecast as a single hour-long episode), the gang continues to imagine what their lives would have been like had they made different choices. In this "alternate reality," Ross (David Schwimmer), still married to Carol (Jane Sibbett), enters into a ménage à trois with a very familiar third party. Also, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) hit it off despite the fact that Monica is overweight and still a virgin. And Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) carries out her fantasies with famous soap opera star Joey (Matt LeBlanc). ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One with Joey's Fridge
The friends conspire -- and compete -- to find the "perfect" man to escort Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) to a fancy charity ball. Ross (David Schwimmer) continues to fret over the age gap between himself and his girlfriend, Elizabeth (Alexandra Holden), especially when he finds out about her plans for spring break in Daytona Beach. And Joey (Matt LeBlanc) plays upon the sympathies of others to finance a new refrigerator for himself. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One That Could Have Been, Part 1
In the first half of a two-part story (originally telecast as a single hour-long episode), the divorce of their friends Barry and Mindy leads the gang to imagine how their lives might have turned out had they made different choices in life. In this parallel universe of the mind, Monica (Courteney Cox) is overweight and a virgin; Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) has a crush on famous soap opera leading man Joey (Matt LeBlanc); Ross (David Schwimmer) is still wed to a "straight" Carol (Jane Sibbett); and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) has a high-paying job on Wall Street -- and a bad heart condition! The "alternate reality" theme of this episode is even carried over into the opening credits. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One with Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.
Joey (Matt LeBlanc) has a chance at landing a leading role in the science-fiction TV show "Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E." (for the record, the letters stand for Computer Humanoid Electronically Enhanced Secret Enforcer). As he prepares for his big moment, Joey's friends recall previous high points -- and moments of great professional stress -- in their own lives. Yes, it's a clip show, the second in Friends history, and the golden moments from past episodes are as funny as ever. ~ All Movie Guide

Friends: The One With the Ring
Bruce Willis makes his third and final series appearance as Paul, the father of Ross' college-age girlfriend, Elizabeth (Alexandra Holden) -- and the current amour of Ross' former sweetie Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). As Paul's behavior becomes stranger and more ominous, Rachel begins to see her relationship with Ross (David Schwimmer) in a whole new light. Meanwhile, Chandler (Matthew Perry) enlists the aid of Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) in choosing an engagement ring for Monica (Courteney Cox)...a major mistake! ~ All Movie Guide
